It's getting harder and harder to find a new PC that hasn't either got a brand-name markup or is made from inferior generic parts, but last year I stumbled upon SSC when I was looking for a new computer. I had never used them before, and so I was a bit hesitant at first when I saw their prices which were significantly lower than everyone else's.
The computer I ended up getting was a Pentium III 500, Sound Blaster Live, surround sound, 17" Sony Monitor, 17 gig hard drive and 128 MB ram, a HP Deskjet printer and Windows 98. At the time this was still pretty state of the art but it only set me back £1,200.I have had no significant problems with the computer, but if I were to, then I have a 5 year warranty on it.
SSC seems to be very good value for money and the computer you get is very reliable. You can check their prices on their website: www.ssc.co.uk
