SSN is all about the exploits of an American Los Angeles class attack submarine called the Cheyenne in a fictitous battle over the spratley islands when an american oil finding ship is seized by the chinese after it finds oil. Then America and China go to war. The book is all about the aspects of submarine hunting. It does like many of Tom Clancy's novels gets very technichal but it is all manageaable but the jargon is anoying. despite this it is a very fast paced book and concentrates more on the battle field action rather than in the political arena which is where Tom Clancy sets many of his books.
