On my first attempt at playing this game i wanted to throw the controller across the room, cos I just couldn't get the hang of it... but I kept going and found this game to be the most fun I've ever had on a PS2! (although I believe it is now also available for the X Box)
Basically, the game is based around a number of snowboarding characters and a load of different courses. Each character is able to practice and then use a number of different moves in order to complete the course either in the fastest time, to beat other racers, or alternatively to complete as many tricks as possible with points gained for each trick along the way until you reach the finish. If you finish in Bronze, Silver or Gold positions, you are able to unlock other courses, one of which halfway through the game is amazing fun, it's laid out like a pinball game and you hit things to send you into the air so you can perform wicked tricks and earn lots of points with the amount of airtime you get.
Of course when I'm stuck on the first 3 levels and a friends 5 year old then comes round and finished the whole game in about 3 hours, I did get a bit of an inferiority complex, but overall it is a good laugh, a lot of fun and can keep you busy for hours! We had a group of friends round and all had a bit of a go on the game and found it provided a lot of entertainment for most of the day and everyone who had a go enjoyed it immensly! Can't wait for the next game with some new levels.
At around 44 quid for the game brand new, it's a bit on the expensive side, and I haven't seen many second hand copies lying around in the shops, but even for that money it's one of the few games I would be happy paying that much for as it provides so much entertainment.
This was the first game we got for the playstation and I must say I have never found another to beat it.....definately a game to be enjoyed between friends...sadly we got struck by lightning and the playstation broke. The guy said it couldnt be fixed and he couldnt get the game out-bet hes sitting somewhere fooling around with our game.....these games arent cheap so we havent replaced it yet
of them,SSX, brought snowboarding to people who didn't even like snowboarding. Now, only a year later, PS2 fans get a new reason to stay indoors during the cold winter mo...
