Sonic Mega Collection Plus (PS2)

Advantages: Loads of classic games at a ridiculous price
Disadvantages: Missing a couple of gems

Ah, now this is what you need. You like Sonic? You should get this. You don't know Sonic? You should get this. It's a selection of choice cuts from Sonic's early days, and considering the budget price, it's quite the deal. These are the games included on the disc: - Sonic The Hedgehog - The game that started it all (10 points for anyone playing Spot The Cliché), Sonic is the least advanced game on this disc but it's still worth a play. Let's face it, it probably won't turn the heads of anyone who grew up on Crash Bandicoot and that dragon thing, but for anyone looking for a retro fix, this is for you. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 - My personal favourite, mainly because it came with Mega Drive and was therefore a game I worked to death (couldn't afford anything else!). Review of Sonic Mega Collection Plus (PS2)

Sub Sonic

Advantages: Graphics, Sounds, Gameplay
Disadvantages: Longevity, Poor Multiplayer

Sonic 3 came out in the mid 1990's on the back of the huge success of the previous 2 main Sonic games (Sonic The Hedgehog and Sonic 2) and featured the main protagonist from the previous 2 games, Sonic (the titular character) who's an infamous blue hedgehog. He's joined by his two tailed fox friend Miles ?Tails? Prower (Yes Miles Per-Hour...) and the returning antagonist Dr Robotnik (still known by such a name in Europe at the time, his name how ever was Dr Eggman in Japan, and America I think). A new additional to cast was a red Echinda (Knuckles) who plays a bit of a role as a baddie though it's more due to the lies fed to him by Robotnik than actually being evil. Review of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Mega Drive)

A Super Sonic Start to the franchise

Advantages: Gameplay, The Sonic Magic, Level Designs, Fun fun and more fun
Disadvantages: An anti-climatic ending, the Graphics weren't great when compared to Sonic 3's

Sonic The Hedgehog (or Sonic 1) released in 1991 on the Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis if you're living in America) set the foundation for one of the most endearing gaming franchises of all time that now 18 years on is still around. As one of the early games on the Mega Drive to really earn the console some kudos in it's battle with the Nintendo system of the time and as Sega's answer to Mario the blue hedgehog was one of the most important gaming characters of the 1990's. Though Sega had been looking for a mascot for a while they settled on Sonic (though the title character from the late Mega Drive game ?Ristar? had almost been picked as the character for this game).
