Advantages: Bruce Lee's original notes and his very own documented development of Jeet Kune Do Disadvantages: Not particularly easy to read.
...Before I begin, I'd just like to say that it was quite hard in which catagory to put this book. Tao of Jeet Kune Do is a book by Bruce Lee. Although Jeet Kune Do (JKD) is another form of martial arts developed by Bruce Lee, so it can be clasified as a sport, as I read it was very closely linked to Bruce Lee's philosphy, aswell as lifestyle. Choosing between these catagories I have eventually submitted it to Ciao for review in the Sports catagory. I hope this will suffice.
History.
To be able to appreciate this book, you should understand some of the history. I'm almost 17 and I barely know much about Bruce Lee. ...WARNING This book will seriously damage your outlook on life.
If you are looking for a love story with perhaps a wee bit of humour and good bedtime read i'm afraid this is not the book for you. This is a thrill a minute story of what could happen if what we see on TV and in films actually happened.
Ben Elton has mixed violence with humour and produced a quality read.
The three main characters are Bruce Delamirti, a big hollywood director who makes violent films in the genre of Natural Born Killers, and Wayne and Scout who are a couple that are reinacting what they see in Bruce's films. The entire book takes place over 2 days, the day of the oscars and the day after. They are perhaps both the best and worst days in Bruce's life.
