Ugly...on the outside.

Advantages: Fun to drive
Disadvantages: HIDEOUS!

...car redeems itself; the dashboard lights up and theres not of green light, its a much nicer place to be. The engine also performs with that famous Saab acceleration that can outstrip most supercars. The downside is the styling and don't take any race-speed corners with a full boot. ...

93 versus BMW and Audi

Advantages: second hand value
Disadvantages: cost new

This Saab is an excellent machine and has a specific place in the market where its true value can be appreciated. If you are buying a new car in this class then it is not good value its too expensive and looses value too quickly, however, if its a used car you are after then this is where I feel the value lies. A second hand one is nearly as good as the same level BMW and Audi its well speced fast and frugal but is much much cheaper to buy and maintain ...

BIg Car in every way

Advantages: Wonderfully comfortable, huge carrying capacity, safe
Disadvantages: Expensive to own

...but we much prefer the Saab as a package (although if there is a production car more fun to drive than an Alfa I have yet to drive it) The downside is that they are not fuel efficient and routine servicing and spares is expensive ( a set of new front tyres from a discounter was £260). They are supremely comfortable for long trips. I can do 250 miles without stopping, have a meeting, get straight back in the car and do another 250 miles non-stop ...
...frequent sources of knee injuries. Saab are heavy on safety features. The display is also a model of clarity and unfussiness. The Saab won't be to everyone's taste. They also depreciate faster than Mercs and BMWs, but are way more interesting to drive than similarly-priced models of those. You also get a lot of things in a Saab as standard that are extras in those, making them very good value new.. Once you have the bug it is difficult to change, ...

Love it

Advantages: Huge boot. Comfort. Looks
Disadvantages: Expensive repair

I bought my saab 9-5 2.3t 4 years ago and it was a high mileage second hand car at the time and I'm only just thinking about replacing it. This car is superb. I bought it after owning a saab 9000i which I found to be very comfortable and reliable and the saab 9-5 is no different. Although the servicing costs are relatively high I have only once had a problem with the engine and this is in a car which is fast approaching 200000 miles on the clock. ...
...the passanger compartment, with the saab stereo, climate control and power steering your comfort level doesn't change, in fact its very hard to believe the speed your doing without looking at the speedo. And this is because its a big, heavy, motorway machine. Driving it around town and trying to park it at the local supermarket is hard work. The massive boot, where you can store your whole families luggage for a two week holiday, makes reverse parking ...

Saab 9-5, what a beauty!!!

Advantages: Comfortable and good control. (Great safety.)
Disadvantages: Not as good for money

This is an Estate car. They are about £22,000 new or £16,000 for a 2nd hand 10,000 milage car. It has many features such as cruise control and SIPS (Side Impact Protection Safety.) Sweden, (from my point of view) make excellent quality cars. You can get bottom warmers installed but that is a tiny bit more expensive. The 9-5 2.0t, is a very powerful car, and before we bought it, we pushed it to the limits, and it did very well. It's gearbox is full ...
...Inner design is not over the top (OTT), it is an executive style. It is about 1.20metres high and a bit longer width and lenght than usual estate cars. I recommend this car to anyone who has this money. Although, for the money I think a few more features would make it the perfect car! It has good looks and handles roads well, security is also great. ...
