We bought this car from new in an x reg. It was our first convertible car and was a step up from a mondeo sport. I have a number of good and bad issues with the car all.
Firstly this car is in a strongly repesented market. With BMW probably the best by a good distance. Mercedes, Audi and Volvo too. With such high competition this car needs to be alot to compete. On speed it is the fastest marginally than all the others. This is compared to the other 2 litre competitors. I think this is purely because of the turbo (low pressure). However its drive is average for a convertible, suffering from skuttle shake, due to poor structure common in soft tps but still bad maybe as it uses a subframe and chassis from vauxhall! Its price is reasonable compared to the others and comes with good features. It is relatively reliable but does use vauxhall parts so it does damage he reputation a little. The roof is quick to take down and up and well sealed, limiting rod noise.
The ergonomics are good, with simple diplays and button lay out within. It is quite dated though and boring!
The fuel consumption is quite good averaging at 27 (approx). It is a safe car with the latest safety protection system but is obviously not a secure as a hard top car.
The boot is poor. As with many soft tops this is always an issue however it does struggle to accomodate much luggage or shopping.
In summary i believe this car is average. It does well to compete and has a good build quality but is out classed in some categories. The new model i hear is considerably better and it is crtainly a less common car to see on the road than a BMW 3 series.
