    The Saab 9-5 Aero Estate

God I miss my 9-5 Aero Estate! It was so practical, fast and comfortable. Whisking my 5 plus family to anywhere in England in style and comfort was always a bonus and for me the thought of a long drive was something to look forward too! I think it's rare to say that about any car these day's. The boot is massive and the seats fold down completely flat, making it about as big as an average panel van. The Aero comes with all the whistles and bells you may think of, such as Bi-Xenon lights, heated seats, full leather, electric seats, cruise control, the list is endless. The 250bhp engine is as smooth as silk and someone once told me it's faster than a Porche 911 between 40-70mph and believe me it feels it and because these are the typical speeds you start an overtaking manoevre at theres nothing more comforting than a car which takes but seconds to overtake a long lorry. My wife and kids felt safe and comfortable and the full leather is easy to clean. The downside to the car? Just the fuel consumption. 28-38 mpg is about the best you can expect which gives you about 250 miles to a £55 tank, which means you will be stopping at the services a few times on a longer journey but if youre in the league to buy in this class of car you might not worry about that to much. If you want a car that will keep up with a BMW or Mercedes, has more space than an Audi and is cheaper than all, like for like I believe you can't go far wrong with a Saab 9-5 Aero Estate. Buy new and get stung for some heavy depreciation but buy 1 year old and clean up! I sold mine because I changed careers but as soon as I get enough pennies together I'm getting another.

I have got a 9-5 Aero Estate which I imported new from Sweden and thus avoided the depreciation issue. I agree that the fuel consumption is not great but for a car that performs like this you would not expect it to be too economical. But as you say, it is a fantastic car - I must write a review myself some day.
