When I received the kettle it didn't immediately jump out at me as impressive but it was only £17.79, not the most expensive option available these days. The kettle is white with a small chrome handle on the lid which you twist to enable the lid to open. I think the kettle is a bit tacky to be honest. It's a very slightly off white colour compaired to my other white appliances and the chrome handle on the lid looks like really cheap silver plastic to me, not chrome at all. Apart from that, the shape of the kettle is good and there is a tear drop shaped water level indicator in ...
Advantages: cordless kettle on short corded base, automatic cutout when empty, will not switch on if not properly seated on base Disadvantages: still have to descale though VERY infrequently
We have had our Haden kettle now for about 19 months. That is easy to recall as its only about a month older than our baby LOL Haden make a range of budget kitchen gadget type appliances and seem to be able to keep in business, so obviously they are not too dodgy even though not the most expensive on the market! The cordlesskettle sits nicely on its short corded base plate. There is a nonstick sort of looking plate on the inside which supposedly helps reduce limescale. I would say it does a pretty good job as I have only had to descale once so far. I ...
Advantages: Boils water. Disadvantages: Pours very badly
I purchased this as a replacement for my old kettle about 7 months ago. I decided to review it as I am not terribly impressed.
I purchased it at Argos and I think it was about £24 at the time. This appeared to be at the higher end for normal jugkettle (as opposed to the fancy matching ranges).
It is a white kettle with a silver-grey lid and handle and a clear strip up the side so you can see how much water is in there. There is a push button on the top of the handle to allow the lid to open and a switch at the bottom which is depressed to turn the kettle on. It sits neatly on a white base which has about a 24 inch lead attached. The element is concealed at the bottom and it is 3000watts. the kettle is marked in cups and goes up to 8 cups so is a good size.
When the kettle is put on the base it is illuminated a lovely shade ...
