Advantages: Good range of food, pleasant atmosphere, doesn't seem like part of a chain Disadvantages: None
The first time I went to Caffe Uno (and yes it IS spelled with two F's!) I didn't even realise it was part of a chain! It has just opened up, and it was so nice and so individual, and the food not at all packaged or pre-prepared, that I thought it was one on its own. It really doesn't seem like a chain as it has nice little touches which make it seem special. It wasn't until I went to visit a friend and saw one in her home town that I realised!
Caffe Uno is an Italian style cafe restaurant, decorated in a fairly rustic style with wooden tables and wicker chairs (more comfortable than they sound!) and a bar area from behind which drinks are served (although there is nowhere to sit at the bar, it is more for decoration than anything else. The lighting is quite ambient, all in all providing a pleasant atmosphere.
The restaurant ...

"You went out for dinner AGAIN?!" screeched my mother down the phone this morning, "No WONDER you're getting short of money!"

Advantages: Good Large portions of pasta Disadvantages: Lasagna, not as good as Steve makes
This is one of my favourite eating Places in St Ives Cornwall.
In 2008 we were not able to use it as there had been a fire in the building, which was badly damaged and took oabout a year to restore it, which as it was a listed building had to be back to how it was.
It is located on Wharf Road so overlooks the Harbour.
It has about 40 covers so is not overly large, but as it is popular Booking is strongly advised, even when we visit St Ives in October.
As the name of the place CAFFE PASTA PIZZA suggests that is the main things on the menu, but there are also Steaks.
The staff are very attentive without being obtrusive, and they obviously have been well trained with a good work ethic.
Starters :-
Soup, on the nights we were in Was Green Pea one night and Wild Mushroom the other. What I like is that you get a Large ...
