Bathing a baby can be difficult! Once they have outgrown a baby bath, then a baby bath chair.. what next? Now our son is at the crawling and standing up stage, bathing was a nightmare so our next investment was the Safety 1st Swivel Bath Seat.
What is it?? The seat is blue and sturdy with suckers on the base and a coloured toy on the front. My son has never played with the toy, and in my opinion is very boring. The seat also swivels round so this is a plus for nosy babies! The seat is circular and smooth so no risk of accidents.
Price This bath seat is a lot cheaper than other seats on the market aimed at 6 months +. It can be found for around £9.99, which I found to be very cheap so full marks for pricing. I got it at this price from Babies R us - which is situated inside Toys R us, or online.
Advantages Because your baby will be in a fully upright position, its possible to have the water quite deep so your baby can have a good splash around. There is also room for a 2nd person in the bath as the seat is very small and compact and remains at one end of the bath. If your baby isn't at the standing up stage i'd fully recommend this seat. Because its made of plastic, cleaning it is very easy, just using a cloth, and no need to put any covers in the washing machine unlike other bath seats.
Drawbacks Because the seat is plastic, it does get quite slippery if your baby is trying to stand up by using it. i also don't find the suckers very strong, and when my son kicks and splashes the seat does move. I don't think this is dangerous as it moves slightly down the bath, however, I don't think he will be able to stay in the seat much longer because he is getting more boisterous! And even though my son is only 8 months old, he can stand up in this seat. He hasn't managed to fully get out of it as we are there. But under no circumstances can you leave your child alone! (which you shouldn't anyway!!) Plus, the toy is pointless!
Would I recommend? Because of the £9.99 price tag, I am still quite happy with this product as it HAS made bath-time a LOT easier!

My daughter had a similar one and liked it for a while though went off of it quite quickly - well reviewed

I much prefer to hold my son in the bath, well he goes in the shower with me as it is much easier. These kind of bath seats worry me a bit as I worry they may slip down in the seat or topple forward. Glad it has been good for you though. He looks happy in the bath with his ducks :)
Advantages: A safe way to bath baby, Swivel base, Sturdy design, Fun for baby Disadvantages: Toy is boring, can be uncomfortable until baby can sit properly
