...was clicking but sure enough Sainsbury Insurance opened.....LOLOL SO I thought I may as well get a quote while I am here - I hadn't even thought about these before then..........
I started putting my info onto the screen. This I may add is very simple to do. Nothing hard at all. All very basic stuff and even the most thick person in the world would be able to follow on screen instructions. I was impressed by this alone!!! All other ... ...to go wasnt infront of you or again there was always a bit of trouble off putting but with this site nothing at all!
Anyway after 2 pages of easy input info I get the screen....please wait......getting quote...... I actually laughed out loud and thought go ahead you mo fo, hit me with it!!!!!! But no it didnt........... £135.65 I WAS IMPRESSED. That impressed screen again had not finished loading but I already had Solo card and bank ... more
Sitting a few weeks back and REALLY needed my house contents insurance ASAP. I had been sitting for about 2 days going through all sorts of companies to see which would give me a good quote. It was a nightmare..........
I was finding companies that were giving me excellent quotes only to find that there was no accidental damage included or the excess was really high or whatever. No matter what I could find nothing to suit.
That night a man from Endsleigh rang my mobile and he informed that he would surely find the best quote possible to suit me. I was interested........ So I listened and I listened and I listened and I listened.........Getting the drift?!!?!?!? My God, he was horrifying me. He was giving me quotes well over £100 more than the cheapest I was getting online and this was still without accidental damage. I told him in a round about way that I wasnt interested but if he came up with blah blah blah (I told him exactly what I was looking for) then he could call me back!!!
Next day I decided to leave it for a while as my head was seriously fried and I needed a break so I came online and decided to enter some competitions. On some sites to get your entry validated they require you to 'click a link' so I clicked. My screen still hadnt fully downloaded and I didnt even know what I was clicking but sure enough Sainsbury Insurance opened.....LOLOL SO I thought I may as well get a quote while I am here - I hadn't even thought about these before then..........
I started putting my info onto the screen. This I may add is very simple to do. Nothing hard at all. All very basic stuff and even the most thick person in the world would be able to follow on screen instructions. I was impressed by this alone!!! All other companies were wording things complicated or where you were supposed to go wasnt infront of you or again there was always a bit of trouble off putting but with this site nothing at all!
Anyway after 2 pages of easy input info I get the screen....please wait......getting quote...... I actually laughed out loud and thought go ahead you mo fo, hit me with it!!!!!! But no it didnt........... £135.65 I WAS IMPRESSED. That impressed screen again had not finished loading but I already had Solo card and bank details in hand!!! LOLOLOLOL
So what was I offered you all want to know?
Unlimited Cover - This was great cause before I was only getting up to £35,000 which wasnt really adequate! Accidental Damage Home Emergency - Really great for things like broken windows or pipes or whatever. Legal Expenses Single Item Limit of £2000 High Risk Item of £5000 And finally NO EXCESS - Couldnt believe this. Well first quote I got was like £127 with £50 excess but I took excess away just to see and I got the above price which I was overjoyed about!!!!!!
Onto the next screen after agreeing to take insurance. Simple again - Card number with direct Debit details and thats it. It does allow you to use another persons card and print out DD form which I thought was very convient for student houses etc......
***************************************************** Just to make you aware BTW - The above quote is ONLY for contents. I did not get a buildings quote cause at the mo I do not own this house!!!! *****************************************************
The way they ask for payments to be made are as follows...... You have to pay 2 months payment up front. This is the first & last month of the premium. I paid £22.65 with my Solo and set up DD for just over £11 a month. You pay the monthly installments for 10 months only. So glad I was to have it sorted eventually. I was petrified incase the house went up in flames or something - thats the bloody kind of luck I have....LOLOLOL I was given my policy number on screen straight away and then beeeeeeeep I had a confirmation email. SIMPLE!!!! You can also pay the full amount up front. Whatever is best for you!
In the email I was given a brief description of the policy I had just taken and was informed I would recieve documents within 3 working days. Did I? You ask.... I did. :-)
Now would I recommend? Definitely, without a doubt. Best insurance quote Ive ever came across. Just hope it is all as stated. I have thoroughly read my policy and everything is there in clear black and white - again very easy understood!!!!
Only thing I havent done is have any contact with them by telephone so I cannot comment on that. If I do at any stage though I will update to let you know if I am as impressed as I am with the rest so far!
Hope you enjoyed the read. Take care, have fun, Kellso :-)
Advantages: Excellent service at a competative price Disadvantages: None that I have found
I have been with Sainsbury's Home Insurance for two years now.
In May last year I discovered that I had got a burst water main under the house. I called a plumber who came out that night and carried out the repair. Whilst he was doing this I called Sainsbury's Insurance to make a claim for water damage.
The assesor arrived the following day and agreed the claim with me there and then - this included getting a specialist company in to dry out the ... ...work and redecoration.
The whole process was hassel free and really helpful.
The specialsit company arrived within 24 hours of the assessors visit and I ended up with really large air blowers under the floor for nearly a month. They even paid for the electricity usage.
The service from this company was outstanding and there was no quibbling over the claim value - I actually had to remind them to deduct the excess on the policy from the final settlement ...

Advantages: Price, helpfulness and quickness Disadvantages: Wanted to do it on the website and could not, had to phone them
Last month my home contents insurance was up for renewal. I started searching on the Internet to find the best deal. There was some competitive quotes, however one came out on top, one which suprised me. I saw a banner advertising Sainsburys insurance, so I thought I would have a look. I nearly got put off as it was not a site I could get a quote on, I had to call a free phone number. I decided to see what they were offering, and I have to say it ... ...The person was very helpful and thorough but not a time waster. He gave me a quote which came to just over £50 for what I needed insuring, and then went on to tell me that they had a special offer (which is on until February!!) where I could get a further £25 off, and I would also receive 500 reward points. So I ended up paying half of what he first quoted me, and I have to say I consider it real value for money when I am paying £25 for a years worth ...

Quick review of Sainsbury Home Insurance
MY EXPERIENCE HASNT BEEN SO GOOD WITH SAINSBURYS HOME INSURANCE, IT SEEMS TO ME THAT YOU CAN ONLY CLAIM IF EVERYTHING IS BRAND NEW. MY HOUSE IS IN GOOD CONDITION, HOWEVER I NEEDED TO CLAIM FOLLWING STORM DAMAGE TO MY ROOF, [I ONLY WANTED THE TILES PUT BACK] THEY WOULD NOT DO THIS AS "THE TILES ON THE HOUSES ON THE OPPORSITE SIDE OF MY STREET WERE NOT DAMAGED!"
THEY ALSO HAVE AN INTERESTING EXPLANATION OF THE WORD "EMERGENCY" YOU WOULD NEED TO CHECK THIS IN DEPTH! I THINK THEY SEEM TO MOVE THE GOAL POSTS AND GET OUT OF PAYMENT AT ANY OPPORTUNITY. MY ADVICE, GO TO SOMEONE ELSE. ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "Sainsbury Home Insurance"
Advantages: Straight forward claims form - very quick service Disadvantages: None!
I have used Sainsbury's pet insurance for my dog for the last 5 1/2 years. I have made two claims. The first when my dog was aged 2 for a foot injury. The vets themselves filled in the claim form and Sainsubury's paid them direct. The vets were happy to see that my pet was insured by Sainsbury's. The second time was a couple of weeks ago and it was over 4 hundred pounds. I had to pay for the bill myself then claim the money back.
The main waiting time I had was the length of time the vets took to complete their part on the claim form which was nearly 2 weeks!!! I know this as I kept checking with Sainsbury's to see if and when they had received my claim form.
Sainsbury's received my claim on a Tuesday and when I arrived home the following Tuesday the cheque was on my doormat with a very nice letter in it too ...
Advantages: Good rates, good access options Disadvantages: Limited range, poor customer service
offers
- Savings - direct saver, child trust fund and depositing services
- Borrowing - loans or car buying
- Insuring - travel insurance, car insurance, homeinsurance, life insurance, pet insurance, travel money and identity fraud services
- Sainsburys Credit Card
- Travel Services - travel insurance or travel money
As with all financial institutions Sainsburys always has offers and deals, if you want to check them out at http://www.sainsburysbank.co.uk/
So, to sum up I would say that Sainsburys banking is really quite good. Obviously I can only really comment on the savings accounts offered, but I think that they are good. I would recommend them to just about anyone I would suggest the Internet Saver over the Instant Access due to the higher interest rate, but with the service you receive and the long delays in moving money out ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of Sainsburys Bank plc
I first went to the Sainsburyshome page, then to Sainsburys Bank and finally to the car insurance page. I entered my car details. No quote was given due to the type of vehicle selected. I was quite surprised at this.
Sainsburys only entered the car insurance market last year. Being a new entrant I thought that their quote would be competitive enough to lure customers from other companies.
Virgin Money
Quote: No quote given
The online form was quite easy to use. No quote was given, as the postcode was not in the valid format. I entered my postcode in 3 different ways using capitals and lower case. In the end I simply gave up.
The quote was supposed to be given by AA Insurance Services. Their quotes are more expensive than average.
