It Would Make Grannie Grimace and Giggle

Advantages: Very cheap
Disadvantages: Too weak to call tea!

For readers who have not already read about my quest for less expensive everyday items, my sortie into " cheap side" began a few months ago when I received one of those unsolicited state pension projections/ illustrations. It came as a bit of a shock as the reality of my approaching retirement age hadn't hit me before and this prompted thoughts of living on a much reduced ...
...expensive one! However, I believe Sainsbury's would be well advised to find a better product. Even if they had to market it at double the price, it would still qualify for inclusion in their economy range.

As for me, I am now happily back with my normal brands and enjoying regular doses of those satisfying brews. No more 'gnats' for me, Gran. But to Sainsbury's I still owe a debt of gratitude and to them I have to say, thanks for the ... more

Basic But Not Unacceptable

Advantages: They will come out for an airing now and again!
Disadvantages: They can't match the quality teas but what can you expect for this amount of money.

...we had a walk to Sainsbury's and the Other Half was sussing out the Basics range with a keen eye. I could see him eyeing up the Basics teabags and as much as I tried to steer him away and change the conversation it just wasn't going to work. In the end we reached a compromise, The Other Half put his pack of 80 Sainsbury's Basics teabags into the trolley and I bought my usual brand too. I tend to be a bit sceptical where cheap turns into give-away! ...
...Basics range. On the whole Sainsbury's tend to sell top quality goods, so it was pretty tough to believe that they would put their name on a product that is utter rubbish. Just lately they have been paying great attention to the promotion of their Basics range.
