Advantages filling, easy to cook, decent quality chicken
Disadvantages gravy's a bit thin, high in calories, "heavy" pastry
I don’t tend to live on pies (I would probably, I admit, eat them more often if I could get organised enough to make my own) but I do have certain things that I look for in a ready-made pie; unfortunately - for my tastes, anyway - these Sainsbury’s Chicken and Gravy Pies fail to tick a number of boxes on my list. Starting from the inside out, they contain reasonable quality pieces of chicken, generally cubed and rarely more than half an inch by half an inch, but they’re not gristly, fatty or endlessly and I’ve never once found even a hint of skin or bone.
