Everyday this week, so far, I’ve had a bottle of Fresh Orange Juice with my lunch.

Instead of having plain, boring labels, the ‘Taste the Difference’ range, tries to make a normal product, sound so much more interesting, bless them for trying, but it’s orange juice at the end of the day!!
“Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice. A refreshing sweet juice squeezed from oranges such as hand selected Valencias, and bottled within one hour to capture the full fresh flavour”

This bottle was from Sainsbury’s. It’s from the ‘Taste the Difference’ range. It comes in a plastic bottle with a bright orange, screw off lid. The bottle contains 500mls of orange juice. If that doesn’t excite you, then I don’t think you’re going to get excited about orange juice! The little bit of information does make the orange juice quite appealing, it makes it sound lovely.
Also on the label, there’s little bits of information about the product and the people who sell and manufacture it. This is only available from Sainsbury’s and costs £1.49 normally, although I got it at the reduced price of £1.16. I think this is quite expensive, as you can purchase cheaper versions of fresh orange for about 40p for a litre. The reason the this is so expensive, is the fact its from the ‘Taste the Difference’ range, and it’s from Sainsbury’s. Although it is quite expensive, it is pretty appealing, so people will buy it, I know I would.
The lid screws off the bottle easily, and the first thing you see is the bright orange gunk, that’s all around the neck of the bottle. Obviously, it’s little bits of orange, but it doesn’t look particularly nice. After poking my tongue into the bottle and having a little lick (good job the office is empty!) I discovered it tastes very orangey, and very pleasant.
The orange juice itself is a bright orange/yellow colour, like most orange juice really! It actually smells like freshly squeezed orange juice, it smells quite sweet and doesn’t have a tangy bitter smell to it. ]
Upon tasting this, the firs thing I noticed, was the bits! It’s got the bits of the oranges in it. I know a lot of people will be put off by this, but I like it, I think it tastes very nice and natural. I wouldn’t say that it was amazingly refreshing, but it would be much nicer, had it been left in a nice cold fridge for a few hours. This would be prefect for a hot sunny day, if you put some ice cubes in it.
This orange juice contains 246 calories for the full bottle, but considering it’s supposed to contain two servings at 123 calories per serving, it isn’t too bad.
Obviously this contains lots of vitamin C which helps maintain healthy skin and gums and the body’s resistance to infection.
Like with most types of fresh orange juice, there is a slight after taste, but it isn’t too bad, and doesn’t last that long.
Overall I really like this, and although it’s quite expensive, it’s worth it.
Advantages: Tastes nice; bright, attractive bottle Disadvantages: A bit expensive
There's nothing quite like a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice straight from the fridge to set you up for the day. It is not only highly refreshing, but also an excellent source of vitamin C.
The other day, whilst in Sainsbury's, I decided to buy a bottle of their own brand 'Taste the Difference' freshly squeezed orange juice. It is described as a 'deliciously sweet juice' made from eight sun ripened oranges, which are squeezed and bottled ... ...As far as I could see, bottles are available in two sizes: 500ml and 1 litre. The juice comes in a see-through plastic bottle, allowing you to see the delicious orange juice for yourself. As is characteristic of the 'Taste the Difference' range, the colour, maroon, features prominantly over the bottle, particularly on the product label. This is bright and alluring, with a nice picture of some juicy-looking orange segments, set against a light pink ...

Quick review of Sainsbury's Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
I love the tang to it, it's more lemony and bitter than the Marks and Spencer's organic orange juice, and I like that. In my view, one of the best bottles of orange juice that can be bought from any british supermarket. It's not from concermtrate, and contains bits. I don't like Tropicana myself as it doesn't taste fresh and has no tang to it whatsoever, but this does. It's possibly doesn't quite match up to Tesco's 'Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice', which is suprisingly tangy and sweet at the same time. ...

Advantages: Inexpensive, orangey Disadvantages: nothing like freshly squeezed
Tropicana, but I'd rather not have to pay 99p for one carton when I can get almost three for that price in the value section at Tesco.
It is best served chilled because room temperature seems to make the juice that much more sweet which isn't so nice. In the summer my girlfriend makes ice lollies out of orangejuice and they're nice for a cool down treat.
Safeway and Sainsbury do their own version of the value orangejuice but Tesco's tastes that much more like the freshlysqueezed I can't justify buying.
Tesco's comes in a white one litre UHT carton with the signature blue and white checks around the top and down the side with simple red labelling. Very non-descript, but worth the try at 35p a carton. Just think, you could either have a chocolate bar or five glasses of OJ for the same price. (I know, the chocolate sounds good ...
