Luscious Lemon is a family size pot of ready made dessert (£3) which is described as 'heaps of mousse, sponge and sauce to share'. The pudding looks good - big tranches of lemon and white mousse - with a freehand decoration of white chocolate shavings and small meringues. But beneath the surface there were dry chunks of sponge, over-sweet mousse and a taste reminiscent of sherbet lemons.. Overall, I felt less would be more - less sugar, fewer trimmings (I'm not a white chocolate fan and the meringues were like bullets) - for an adult palette. But it would probably appeal to children and, boasting natural flavourings and colourings, probably not send them too hyper. The pot holds 450 grams of dessert; Sainsbury's suggest it serves four which equates to 269 calories per portion.
