Advantages: Rich deep taste with a light appearance Disadvantages: Pricey compared to many other sherries
...Creamsherry has been a popular english tipple for centuries. For me it evokes visions of older ladies saying "I'll just have a small one", of a small gathering of men togther after dinner and of christmas family gatherings.
Personally I enjoy this sherry chilled and sipped on a hot summer afternoon.
Croft original is one of the most popular sherries in england. It is a pale creamsherry producing a blend of the pale dryness of quality Fino Sherry with the added depth and body of a full cream.
The colour is light and delicate.
The taste is smooth and luxurious in its taste.
The sherry is produced by Croft. The company was formed by John Croft in 1678 and assumed the name of Croft in 1736. They began to produce sherry in 1970 with the debut of Croft Original. They are currently part of the Diageo group.

Advantages: Delicious and very drinkable sherry Disadvantages: Too sweet for some people
...’s not like cheap dry Sherries, it has a depth of flavour with a blend of fruit and nuts, and sweetness not like a liqueur but comforting. Gosh that’s the glass finished, I’ll need another one to finish writing and by then I will not be able to type, perhaps I should get something to eat with this next glass!.
A LITTLE NIBBLE
Sherry is best known as an aperitif, but a sherry like Croft Original can be served with fishy things or instead of a sweet wine with the dessert or fruit course. I admit to liking a glass in the evening when my husband has a Whisky, and then I might nibble some crisps or nuts or some chocolate – it goes very well with rich Belgian Chocolates!

...This is for anyone who likes Sherry but cannot afford Croft Original or similar.
This is a fairly good imitation of sherry and has gotten the grand name Sainsbury's Stamford Pale Cream Fortified British Wine.
Makers of fortified wine could not call it sherry. So Sainsburys had to find a suitable name for their product and got the name Stamford from Stamford St. where their head office was.
The minute you open the bottle you can definitely smell the Sherry aroma. (even though you know it is fortified wine) When you pour it in the glass you will see the golden paleness of its colour and when you taste it you will notice the mellow, lingering flavour. Its taste is neither a harsh nor soft it is not a refreshing drink it is a warming drink, it kind of coats your throat and you get that warm comforting, feeling that this drink...
