While the first Saints Row almost felt GTA like, Saints Row 2 feels like a holey unique enviable alternative to what GTA 4 offers. It's story doesn't care about moral consequences, it doesn't pretend to give a realistic lifestyle and it certainly doesn't care who it offends. Saints Row to is over the top and ridiculously fun.
The Story of Saints Row 2 starts with you waking from a five year coma, this gives you the perfect opportunity to design you character, from their sneakers to their baby spot. The creation tool is quite assume you can select from four different reaces, fluctuate your weight and age wildly and even choose between a man and a woman. You can tweak each aspect of the face is you like, but its kind of a paint messing with all those sliders. It is fun choosing your own compliment tho, making you character dance a happy jig is pretty funny.
The missions in Saints Row 2 follows a standard urban assault excusions we've been doing for years. Most of the time you'll find yourself driving down gang members or raiding buildings killing everyone in sight. There isn't a tone of variety here but it stays fun throughout because of the satisfying controls. You wont have any lock on character to fall back on, shooting is controls with the right stick, you will have to aim for heads and spin around to shoot crooks if you wanna stay alive. Lack of any kinda cover system, its kind of weak, but that just mean the emphasis is shifted for its pure aggression. You cant just rest down you morals here, you'll have to constantly run and gun which makes the combat extremely fun. And did i mention that you can throw people! There a tone of other activities outside the main mission that are even more fun, the racing missions are tight and exiting, and insurance fraud makes you get into some terrific traffic accidents as possible and there are a lot more. Most of them are quite awesome and offer their own unique wars. The best of these is, zombie uprising, here you'll find yourself in an old hotel overflowing with the legions of the undead. There also a co-op mode that makes the campaign even more fun, you and your friends are free to take part in your own activities, you can compete in a helicopter assault mission while your Buddie spray paints walls, this mode is really incredible. Being able to do what ever in the city is very freeing, making the already great campaign even better.
Saints Row 2 isn't GTA IV but isn't trying to be either, its funny and unique in its own rights filling the void of GTA's left by trail of a gangster lifestyle. This is a game that truly embraces the idea of consequence free environment should be really fun. So everything is geared towards making this game fun as possible. Great controls, variety of mission types, incredible co-op makes this the most satisfying sandbox games around!

Saints Row 2 is a great game but I feel the game was messed up by the end of the first game, basically at the end you get blown up on a ship, then the developers decided they would make a second game but wait, your characters dead, I know lets say he miraculously survived and is recovering in prison, yeah and while we're at it lets modify all the other characters to make it look like some times passed by, no not all that great. I must say though ... ...V8 engine.
In conclusion Saints Row 2 is a great game I think that if your going for a modern gangster game this beats GTA every day of the week, it is currently priced at around £20 and I would rate it 7/10 story, 10/10 graphics, 10/10 gameplay and 9/10 sound, overall I would rate this game a 9/10, appreciate comments, thanks for reading, Liam]

Saints Row 2 is here so get your buckets and spades ladies and gents, it is time to return to the sandbox world of Stilwater!
For those that have never played Saints Row, it is a sandbox game that has a lot of similarities to the Grand Theft Auto series - so straight away you can assume that Saints Row is going to be a good candidate to add to your games collection !
The Saints Row series is based around Gang Warfare so you can expect plenty of ... ...young ones.
The first Saints Row game had you join a gang known as the 3rd Street Saints where your main target was to take over the city of Stillwater by ridding the city of the other 3 gangs that stood in your way. If you have not yet played Saints Row 1, I strongly suggest purchasing it before playing Saints Row 2 otherwise you may find some of the storyline confusing as it continues on from the first game. Saints Row 1 is now a classics title ...

Advantages: murderous and hilarious Disadvantages: probably mess up your kids
Saints row 2 is in my opinion the unofficial GTA 4. i'm not sure how many out there remember this game from their estranged childhood but i certainly do. The crazy birds eye view of a brightly coloured dot runnign around and pulling other brightly coloured dots out of boxes and then driving the boxes around stupidly fast, is nothing short of pure manical entertainment. Grand theft auto has been a game that anyone can enjoy because you don't ahve ... ...and fat annoying family members. Saints row 2 is what everybody wanted from GTA 4 plus fantastic additions.
Story
basically the game continues on from saitns row one which ended with you exploding in some kind of boat chase, the resulting explosion sends you into a coma for 2 years. Your character awakes on an island in the medical wing of some god forsaken prizon only to find he has to face the full penalty of law for your past transgressions. ...

...another modern day gangster game, Saints Row 2 from THQ is intended for over eighteens only and bears a strong similarity to the Grand Theft Auto series. Saints Row 2 does seem to be a little more explicit where the adult content is concerned though and also contains a lot of swearing and references to sex and drugs - even more so than the GTA series. It is all good fun though if you don't take it too seriously but definitely not recommended for the children. Graphically in general gameplay the game doesn't appear to be anything special and is very similar to Driver 3 on the ...

Advantages: Amusing and satisfying gameplay. Disadvantages: Side quests get repetitive and tiresome quickly.
Saints Row 2 > Grand Theft Auto 4 Saints Row 2 is a shameless GTA clone sand box game though it does many things better than GTA4. The game allows an impressive level of character customization and then sets you loose into the sandbox world allowing you to run riot with a selection of colorful side quests. These side quests are fun at first but soon get repetitive as a 'respect meter', which must be filled between each portion of the main story, ... ...main story arc. Saints Row 2 returns to the manic, comical fun that gives sand box games of this genre their appeal, keeping score on several criminal behaviors in which you will indulge throughout the game as appose to GTA 4 which has taken the less satisfying approach of gritty realism. In conclusion Saints Row 2 is by no means a sophisticated game with a gripping story and the inability to continue down the main story arc without spamming the ...
