This is an excellent mouse.
I bought it primarily because I am into gaming and as any gamer knows laser mice that are not wireless are the best for first person shooters. Laser being a lot more accurate and reliable than the alternatives the old roller ball and optical. For gaming, this mouse has exceeded my expectations increasing my accuracy in game and my control.
For normal desktop stuff like surfing the web this mouse is ideal too, the mouse pointer always moves consistently and clicks where you want it to. It has the standard left and right buttons and a dial in the middle which also presses in. The two buttons on the side are positioned well right where your thumb rests. These are a very good feature and for desktop applications I have them set on the default which is back and forward page which makes my internet experience a lot quicker. In game you can utilise them too for call of duty 4 and counter strike I have them for switch weapons which is invaluable.
The mouse does have another handy feature for gaming which is the dual mode button which allows you to preset two different configurations and to switch between them with the button in the middle. The dpi can also be changed quickly which basically just speed up the mouse, to be honest I don't use this or the dual mode function.
There is programming software that comes with the mouse which allows you to customize the buttons and the two different modes. I deleted mine because I never used it. One because I do not change my mouse settings ever and two because the programing did not seem to work in game on either cod4 or css. Another adjustable feature is the weights in the mouse umm I never understood it so there is not a lot I can say (-: .
This is an excellent mouse primarily for gaming but not to shabby at other stuff too. I have had mine for four months and I have no complaints whatsoever. As a bonus it lights up all pretty too.
I got mine at Pc world for £35 got home went to the saitek website (to install the latest drivers) and found they sell it for £30.
Advantages: Fast DPI, On the fly DPI, side buttons, programmable buttons Disadvantages: 3200 DPI is a little high

I play computer games. It's the main use for my computer, and I want every advantage that I can get from technology. As I play shooter games, I rely on having a comfortable mouse, that is accurate and points where I tell it, when I tell it. This mouse does exactly that at a reasonable cost.
Out of the box, it is a smart mouse that you can (expectedly) plug straight in and will work straight away, but it is worth spending some time considering how ... ...the bottom to make it lighter, and the teflon pads can be altered to provide more or less friction to provide the perfect weighting and glide for you. The usual buttons are available, two main buttons on top, the mouse wheel (also depressible as a button) and the 2 thumb buttons. These are all mappable using the supplied software, which I found reasonably easy to set up but not hugely intuitive, so that you can use them to replicate other buttons ...

Advantages: Awesome DPI, On-the-fly dpi and mode change, customizable feet and weight. Disadvantages: Side buttons are poor, sweaty feel, quite heavy even with no weight cartridges.
I have had this mouse for 6 months and one of complaints i have is that the shiny material makes your hand feel very sweaty. Problems with this mouse is that the extremely high dpi is not really neccesary as many games don't support it, and you get really bad latency. The macroing software is not too great, and the side buttons have a really terrible feel. However, the left and right click buttons feel very responsive and it is extremely easy to ... ...From a gaming point of view, the customizable features such as weight and style of feet, from standard feet to large pads, really help in achieving your best form but for the price it is not really worth it and better mice, such as one of the Razer series, can be found. ...
