Advantages: looks nice in your bathroom Disadvantages: needs calibrating regularly
...I, like most of us, have experienced the feeling of dread that comes with weighing yourself after the post xmas blowout. I decided that i would join an online dieting club to try to lose the xmas excess (as will as the pre xmas stuff!). I have bought myself a brand new set of Salter scales in the vain hope that a new set will bring me luck this year!
I bought the scales from Homebase - a home improvements store with branches nationwide- for £9.99 which is quite reasonable as the Salter brand is reknowned in the weighing world as being one of the most accurate.
These are mechanical scales so i thought that maybe they would not be as accurate as electronic ones, but finances dictated that these were all i could afford at the time. Salter do a wide range of mechanical and electronic scales to suit every budget and these were the 2nd...

Advantages: Compact, accurate, good price, 10 year guarantee Disadvantages: None at all

Advantages: Very accurate! Disadvantages: Too accurate!

“Why not slot it between your cookbooks?” suggests Lakeland. This might be a little problematic for me as my cookbooks tend to be scattered all over my (and sometimes, other people’s) house, but it would be perfectly possible to do this. It’s 19cm square, 2cm high and made from stainless steel. I’ve found a slight disadvantage in the finish, which has the look of brushed stainless steel in that the only time it’s looked completely clean was on the day I got it out of the box. I seem to chase smears round the surface without ever getting rid of them completely. I live in hope of being able to chase them over the edge...

I do love gadgets and I also love a bargain so, when I spotted the Salter 9117 Bodywise scales on offer at half price, it was more than I could resist so I placed an order for them. I bought mine from Boots online for £24.99 instead of the list price... more
