We seem to get through DVD players in our house like there is no tomorrow. Either they end up with toast stuffed in them or they refuse to play half of our DVDs because there's a speck of dust on them. I think this is either the 3rd or 4th DVD player that we have had to buy in the last few years. What we decided we were after this time was something by a decent company. that didn't cost the Earth and looked fairly robust!
We purchased this DVD player from comet's website, it's priced at £69.99. I like Samsung products in general but hadn't tried a DVD player from them before so we thought we'd give them a go. What really sold it for us was the Divx playback feature.
The dimensions are 50.5x24.0x24.3(H/W/D)cm
This DVD player will play just about anything, DVDs, CDs, VCD, MP3s, CDRW, DVD-R , DVD-RW, DVD+R and DVD+RW . However, it does not have DVD RAM compatible playback.
A word of warning, this DVD player has a scart socket but does not come with a scart lead [which entailed a trip to tesco for us!].
The player works well and is simple to use [our 4 year old has no problems!]. The instructions were clear and the machine and remote seem to be fairly good quality and worth the money.
We've only had this player for a few weeks but it seems to be working well and has resisted the children's attempts to destroy it so far!
