I bought this dvd player around 1 year ago, for £85, from Asda belive it or not! Got it with a free 3-year warranty but as yet haven't had 1 single problem with this player. Its supplied with a 3-phono analogue connector lead which, while adequate, can be improved upon with scart lead connection and digital audio connection from the player to a dolby reciever for full sorround sound. The player is of good quality with all the required ports for full dts sound, which is nice. Its transfer between DVD 'layers' during playback is outstanding with practically no noticeable jump or pause in play, much better than players I've used that are 3 times the price. The remote provides a number of basic features, including zoom, digest (displays all chapters in small windows on the screen) as well as all the usual menu, mode, sound and picture controls. It also has 2 interesting features called s.fit (which is meant to fit widescreen dvds to non-widescreen but I have yet to found a dvd disc that will allow this feature) and also 3D (which attempts to immitate 3d sound using only a stereo TV although I use dolby digital surround so personally have no use for this). All in all an impressive and excellent budget multi-region DVD player from a big name in home entertainment electronics. I can safely say I wont be upgrading from this player for some time to come.

Good op - bit more detail needed though. I have been wanting a dvd for sometime and didn't want to buy some cheapo one from a supermarket, I didn't realise they sold ones from decent manufacturers at such a reasonable price. You have convinced me, at least, to go and have a look.

A decent review, and this sounds like a bargain as I always think of Samsung as reliable equipment and for £85 it has to be unbeatable. You mite want to add some more extra info about the player etc. to gain the top 'very helpful' rating.
