...ease of use of the Samsung Digimax 410 means that you take the camera with you more of the time.
It's all those extra features which make the 410 so versatile, the 3x optical zoom (there's also 2x digital zoom), macro mode , movie mode, the timer etc.
Like most digital cameras, the price has been slowly falling. We paid £300 in December 2002.
We bought an additional 128Mb compact flash card, for £30, ... ...comes with a 32Mb CF card, which will hold 26 images),which we've found is more than enough for most family outings.
Taking a picture is reasonably straight forward. You can view the scene through the optical view-finder or on the 1.6" LED screen. With the dial set 'photo', press lightly on the shutter release button. A green LED,next to the optical view-finder, lights up when the image is in focus (accompanied by a musical tone). more

Like most digital cameras, the price has been slowly falling. We paid £300 in December 2002.
We bought an additional 128Mb compact flash card, for £30, which will hold 104 images at full resolution (the 410 comes with a 32Mb CF card, which will hold 26 images),which we've found is more than enough for most family outings.
When you see the green light depress the shutter release button fully.
The picture you've just taken is diplayed briefly on the LED screen. To view all the photographs stored in the cameras memory, turn the dial to 'view' and the last photo you took will be displayed on the LED screen. You can review and edit all the photos in the cameras memory using the cursor button, next to the LED screen on the rear of the camera.
The camera connects to your computer via a USB cable. Once connected, the camera appears in 'my computer' as 'removable disk D:, or E: etc' depending on how many drives there are in your machine.
To review your photos on your computer, open your imaging software and select 'file', 'open', 'removable disk D:'( or the drive letter assigned by your computer).
4 megapixel resolution is superb for large prints,we've made some superb prints on A4 photo paper. For emailing family & friends, over a standard 56k modem, scale the photographs down to 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 pixels, otherwise they'll take an age to send (and download at the other end).
The only real drawback to the 410 is that it soon gets through standard alkaline batteries. Our supplier bundled the 410 with 2x 4 1800mAh Ni-metal hydride batteries. With one set of four in the camera and one in reserve you should be fine for the day. You'll find however, as the batteries start to tire the auto-focus procedure starts to slow, so you're better off replacing the batteries before you miss the moment. We've recently spotted some 2000 mAh Ni-Metal hydride batteries which might be a must for the family holiday.
Advantages: Very simple to use with great functions Disadvantages: As with most camera's, the short battery life
I havnt had this camera long, but from what ive seen so far its a fantastic camera.
I got this camera on a special offer which was half price so i am very happy with the price, i would pay the full normal price for this camera over other makes and models that i have looked at before.
Its so easy to use, very simple menu's with plenty of features to ensure a great quality picture.
There is also the features to record a video and record sound.
... ...the LCD screen, but when transfered to a pc they look fantastic.
The spec of the camera is..
4.0 mega-pixel resolution
4X digital zoom
9 photo frames
program AE
16mb internal memory
1.6'' TFT LCD monitor
MJPEG movie
Storage driver
The size and the weight of the camera is good, i dont think the looks of the camera are too great but good enough.
Hope this review helps ...
