It's as simple as press the on button, make sure you're on take pictures mode and look through the viewfinder. if you wanna see the picture just press the screen button. Then....point and press the button to take your photo.
The memory is pretty good about 16mb i think but unless you're a professional, you're not really going to be using high quality and all 4.0 mega pixels so you've got pleanty of room for pictures. The normal quality is excellent enough! (If you're going on holiday though I would recommend the memory card add-on incase you do run out).
The screen is about 3cm x 2.5cm and is a really useful picture as no matter how good a camera you use, if you start laughing you'll end up with blurred photos.
Self timer is easy to use as is changing the flash. Macro is a little more complicated. This is the function for when you take pictures of objects really close to you. If you wanna be a bit arty and take photos of flowers, this is a MUST function.
The movie mode is great fun to use and the sound isn't too bad at all. I recorded my entire school singing "Jeruselem" on the last ever day of school and its nearly as good as being there live. It still makes me wanna cry!
The zoom is also easy to use...press the magnifying glass to zoom in and the square button with black dots on (impossible to discribe) to zoom out. simple!
I think my own mother would be able to use this camera and shes a technophobic! You can't really go wrong... like I said...point and press!
Downloading your photos to a computer is easier than it may sound. The first time you do it, place the CD in the drive and follow instructions. Attach the cable to the PC and the other end to the camera and use the software. (Basically click download).
Maybe my friend Caz and I have really weird eyes but in photos of us we get a lot of red-eye...or maybe its just the really good flash. Luckily, the camera comes with MGI Photosuit so you can alter things like red-eye and blemishes.
I would recommend you invest in some rechargable batteries and the adapter to charge them though. If I go on a night out and change the batteries before I go I always take an extra set of batteries just incase. It goes through batteries that quickly if you use the camera a lot...especially with the screen on and when taking films.
If you're new to digital photography or you want a really good camera at a reasonable price... shope around for this camera. I was given this camera as a birthday present so I shouldn't really comment on the price but it wabout about £140 from Argos. The SD memory cards are about £50 so shop around for these!
Easy to use, good value for money and really stylish! perfect!
Advantages: Virtually all the features of the V4 Disadvantages: Its cheaper the the V4
Bought as a Christmas for my wife, it had to meet the following criteria:-
Light and compact ( to fit in small handbag), simple and easy to use, good quality pictures.
She opened the box, inserted the batteries, switched it on and after a few seconds a little tune indicated it was ready to use. Using the little built in screen (on the back) she framed a shot and pushed the button. Wait 2 seconds and it's there to review.
No reading the instruction ... ...Good picture. Scroll through menu, switch on flash and point and click again for an even better picture.
If she can do it so can you. Brilliant value 4 mega pixel digital camera with optical (x3) and digital (x4) zoom. We added a 128mb SD card to supplement the 16mb built in.
For New Year we went to a disco party where she shot a 30 second clip with sound in dark conditions - and it was all viewable, and the sound quality is good.
It comes with ...

Advantages: Easy to use, menus straight-forward and simple, PC software and downloading easy. Quality of photo superb in good lighting conditions. Disadvantages: More than one to just state
The Samsung Digimax 420 is a sleek looking and light weight 4 megapixel camera that certainly looks the part. It has a 1.5inch LCD display, a 3x Optical Zoom and 4 x digital zoom and is powered by either 2 AA batteries, a Lithium-ion battery or even an AC Adapter. All images are displayed on a colour TFT LCD screen and stored on the camera's 16Mb internal memory, which can be upgraded using SD cards (not included). Both still images and movie clips ... ...how much memory is available. I bought this camera around the first week of December and for a 4 mega pixel camera, I thought the price was fabulous. Its was my first digital camera so I was understandably excited. The screen is sharp and detailed, and the menus are easily accessible and understand. It took me minutes to learn the controls.
Coming to the quality of the pictures (which was where my hopes where), my first impression was the picture ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: helpful Review of Samsung Digimax 420
Advantages: Compact, many features, easy to use Disadvantages: A little heavy on battery use
This is my first digital camera, so my choice was based mainly to have as many pixels as possible, be a compact size, a recognised name and all at an affordable price.
I compared the 420 with others in the same price and pixel range and found this to be on top against other well known names.
My main reason for this purchase was to be able to have the option to store my photos on the computer, print what I felt were worth a hard copy, e-mail photos ...

Advantages: Great focusing length Disadvantages: Price
the lens with camera body the both dots must be opposite each other to avoid bad connection between them. The lens is connected to the power source (battery) through the lens.
Considering modern compact digital cameras the EF 75-300 IS is heavy. The lens is heavier than my SamsungDigimax V6 digital camera. I use it (the lens) with my Canon 20D DSLR camera and Speedlite 420EX flashgun, all kit is not light (app. 1.5 kg) and handy but improvement in quality is incomparable.
Features
Modern lenses can be quite easily damaged, especially the ones from upper shelf. They are designed to be ultra fast and extremely quite. But in order to achieve this they are equipped with some gizmos, in our case: USM and IS.
USM is an abbreviation for Ultrasonic Motor. This technology has been pioneered by Canon to produce a fast, near-silent focusing ...
The Digimax 420 offers a 4-megapixel resolution to capture clear and sharp detail and render accurate color tones. It also boasts a high-quality Samsung SHD lens (equivalent to 38mm - 114mm in 35mm format), with 3 x optical and 4 x digital zoom to get up close to your subject. The diverse focusing range is from 6cm close up to infinity. All images are displayed on a color TFT LCD screen and stored on the camera's 16Mb internal memory, which can be upgraded using SD cards. Both still images and movie clips with sound can be recorded, the time limited only to how much memory is available. The Digimax 420 supports a variety of power sources including AA alkaline, Ni-MH, CR-V3 Lithium-ion Batteries and AC adapter so that you won't need to worry about running out of power with so many options available.
good value, good mode selection, good quality, well built, canon quality, good battery life, good resolution and quality, good manual controls, good LCD
clumpy, clunky design and controls, too big to be a true compact, interface pauses, zoom irritating, not worth the upgrade from G3 (*)
