This camera is spectacular! I've played with a few digital cameras but as this is my first digital camera that i've owned, I've found this soooooooooo easy to use!
Within minutes of opening the box, I was using the camera to its full advantage. It's as simple as press the on button, make sure you're on take pictures mode and look through the viewfinder. if you wanna see the picture just press the screen button. Then....point and press the button to take your photo.
The memory is pretty good about 16mb i think but unless you're a professional, you're not really going to be using high quality and all 4.0 mega pixels so you've got pleanty of room for pictures. The normal quality is excellent enough! (If you're going on holiday though I would recommend the memory card add-on incase you do run out).
The screen is about 3cm x 2.5cm and is a really useful picture as no matter how good a camera you use, if you start laughing you'll end up with blurred photos.
Self timer is easy to use as is changing the flash. Macro is a little more complicated. This is the function for when you take pictures of objects really close to you. If you wanna be a bit arty and take photos of flowers, this is a MUST function.
The movie mode is great fun to use and the sound isn't too bad at all. I recorded my entire school singing "Jeruselem" on the last ever day of school and its nearly as good as being there live. It still makes me wanna cry!
The zoom is also easy to use...press the magnifying glass to zoom in and the square button with black dots on (impossible to discribe) to zoom out. simple!
I think my own mother would be able to use this camera and shes a technophobic! You can't really go wrong... like I said...point and press!
Downloading your photos to a computer is easier than it may sound. The first time you do it, place the CD in the drive and follow instructions. Attach the cable to the PC and the other end to the camera and use the software. (Basically click download).
Maybe my friend Caz and I have really weird eyes but in photos of us we get a lot of red-eye...or maybe its just the really good flash. Luckily, the camera comes with MGI Photosuit so you can alter things like red-eye and blemishes.
I would recommend you invest in some rechargable batteries and the adapter to charge them though. If I go on a night out and change the batteries before I go I always take an extra set of batteries just incase. It goes through batteries that quickly if you use the camera a lot...especially with the screen on and when taking films.
If you're new to digital photography or you want a really good camera at a reasonable price... shope around for this camera. I was given this camera as a birthday present so I shouldn't really comment on the price but it wabout about £140 from Argos. The SD memory cards are about £50 so shop around for these!
Easy to use, good value for money and really stylish! perfect!
I agree with you about re-chargable batteries....I think a lot of digital cameras are like that. It is nice to know that Digital cameras can be used by normal people too and not just techno heads!!!! Great review.
