    Advantages Advantages easy to use gives clear pictures built well with no faults in over 6 years of use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages a lot of features not great in zooming in or for movement shots

    This was a camera I received several years ago as a Christmas present from my mum. At least 6 or 7 years later it is still going strong without any problems at all. This is a basic digital camera from Samsung as such there are limited features and no huge amounts of technical things that a more professional and hobbyist photographer than myself would want.     Advantages Advantages Takes fairly good pictures, has reasonable battery life, decent screen

    Introduction I've had rather mixed results with Samsung digital cameras. On the plus side of the ledger, there are little gems such as the V5, which remains a model I'd be happy to take on holiday with me. Conversely, the company has also produced lacklustre examples such as the Digimax 230, which inflicts an objectionable brown colour cast on your photos. That being so, I was in two minds about whether to buy this A400 when I saw it advertised on eBay at £9.95. In the event I think I got a reasonable deal, but no more than that.     "Hi honey how was your day"... "Not bad been on the shopping channel... I bought a camera" "Oh really... Thats the last time you watch that then..." After finding out the details and the price paid (£105) I felt that the more sensible member of the household had made a very good investment. I am not a real photographer. I leave that area all up to her. After all I feel I look better infront of a camera instead of behind it.     I recently brought this camera and am very pleased with the basic features whcih it has. I mainly brought this camera whilst in Bangkok as at £135 they were offering free tripod, case and a 128mb card with this camera which made it very worthwhile. The camera itself has very good features and a 1.8" screen which especially attracted me. At 4 megapixels the camera has very good resolution and the pictures print out very well. However, the main disadvantage of this camera is that there is no viewfinder. So you can only take photos from looking at the display screen. This may sound ok but I found ... more
