Advantages: Huge screen great to see pictures and easy to you. Pictures very clear! Disadvantages: Eats the batteries so has to be changed reguarly. I RIGHT PAIN!!!

The screen is huge allowing the pictures to be seen clearly. The picture quality is perfect and very clear.The buttons where easy to use. There were movie making features and optical zoom. The appearance of the camera is fabulous, and looks very stylish and cute! I think this camera is a must for anyone who wants a good camera at a reasonable price!! Only downfall is that the battery dies quite often, yet nothing that a good stock of batteries cant sort out. Excellent camera!! Would recommend A****
Advantages: An excellent Compact camera with a large screen Disadvantages: Uses batteries far too quickly, which is very expensive and frustrating!
...batteries is quite unbeleivable. I always get duracel high power alkaline batteries and they last for about 30 photos!!! The camera just bleeps and turns itself off saying low battery!
The images taken have been of an excellent quality and if Samsung could perfect the power problem, a good buy. ...

Wanted to upgrade to digital camera, my sister fed up of me borrowing hers! Found a great deal on this camera. Not as small as i would have perhaps liked, but the screen huge display making it easy to use. Fits into a pocket or handbag no problem, but the camera will eat your batteries. Not sure if there is ways of making battery saving decisions on it, will have to hunt in the manual but i am having to take spare batteries out with me just in case ...

The 5 Mega-pixel high-resolution digital camera with Samsung SHD lens Digimax A50 provides 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom. When you set Play mode, images can be enlarged up to 5 times so that you have more fun viewing them. In addition, the Samsung Digimax A50 employs a 2.5-inch TFT LCD large screen with high resolution; thus, you can enjoy natural-looking colors when an image is displayed. The DIGIMAX A50 provides special effects beyond typical shooting methods so that you can spend more exciting time shooting and viewing images. The special effects include Color Effect and Photo Frame. Through the Color Effect function, you can express images in black and white, sepia, blue, red, green, or film color. Through the Photo Frame function, you can add frame-like borders (this camera supports 9 types of frames) to a still image. Thus, you can have more fun viewing and shooting images. For clearer sharper movies, the DIGIMAX A50 uses a high compression, high quality movie clip format, and movie clips are supported in VGA (640x480) at 30fps. With VGA (640×480), you can play a movie clip on your TV without any image quality degradation, and enjoy it on a large screen of a computer, whose size is twice as large as the existing screen. The DIGIMAX A50 provides a camera shake prevention function to avoid camera shake during movie recording. This function detects camera shake automatically and traces the target subject when recording a movie. With the movie function making this digital camera a perfect substitute for a small digital camcorder, the DIGIMAX A50 is very useful to take pictures of family events or your normal life. The DIGIMAX A50 provides a built-in 11MB memory so that you can take and save pictures without a memory card. In addition, this camera provides the Copy to Copy function that enables you to send images saved in an internal memory to an external memory. Thus, you will not be embarrassed if you do not have a memory card for the digital camera while taking pictures during travel or family events. Editing is the most important function of a digital camera. You can correct or modify an image by running an editing program, but it is expensive and takes a long time to learn how to use and become familiar with it. So, for the sake of user convenience, this function is incorporated into the DIGIMAX A50. The function enables a slide show of pictures taken, resolution changes, a trimming function, image rotation, and picture protection so that you can use the camera more conveniently. In addition, the function enables you to check information about the picture immediately. The DIGIMAX A50 can be used as a digital voice recorder, and you can record voice for up to one hour. Additionally, you can add your voiceover to a stored still image for up to 10 seconds. Therefore you can use your digital camera in a variety of different ways.
