Well its a nice looking camera with good Features for the price range. i have a few Digital Cameras I use. I prefer my Nikon D50 but this one i bought because it was cheap on ebay. Its good for everyday use. Its very light weight and small. So for small events and for taking out to night clubs its fine with its built in flash.
The camera has a 2.8" Wide Screen, which is nice and big to show u that special shot you have taken. You can view the Photos in either 16:9 and 4:3 ratio which is great for viewing and sharing photos among friends. This is a very large screen for a Digimax camera of this price range. The one problem with a screen this big is Battery life. Because of the amount of amps needed to produce the Pixels on the screen Battery life is short, too Short in my opinion. Though it has an easy and quick charging sytem that is just a plug in charger which came with the camera. The only way to prolong the life of the Battery's is to set the settings on the Camera so u only get a Picture on the screen after taking the photo. Dont use the screen for viewing the shot, use the Eyelet view lens.
Now lets talk about the Actual features! With this camera you can create movies and not just short ones. I have read that you can record upto an hour wiv a 256mb memory card but i av managed to record about 50 mins at low pixels. The format it uses is MPEG 4. This means once transferred onto the PC you can Burn onto DVD and be able to Play on most DVD players. you can also capture stills from the Movie but to get good quality you have to set it to high pixels.
It also Features a 4.8 Optical Zoom which most cameras come wiv but this seems to react quite quickly. You can also use the continious shooting mode at 2.5 frames per second.
One thing that impresses me most about this camera is the Macro function on it. For a digital digimax camera it is brilliant. It allows you to capture a subject say for instance a Leaf at a distance as close as 2cm. With using the Auto Macro Feature you dont even have to focus just Point and shoot.
Other Features include a special effects functions ie soft focus which helps you take less sharp photos. Also the standard colour effects. It has 11 scene mode functions which are Night mode, Backlight, Sunset, Dawn, Fireworks, Closeup, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Beach and Snow, and Text.
Memory wise it has a built in 32mb but its not enough to take that many photos so you will need to get atleast a 256mb or 512mb card.
So to some up, the Picture Quality is Ok not Dull or too Bright like some cameras. Its easy to use with simple Menu's. Its lightweight and Comfortable to Use, At has a fare few features and is a nice looking camera. This digital Camera is a good Camera for its Price. This is a Digital Camera that would be fine for Basic use, but not much more. If your looking for a long term camera then this is not for you, if you have a few more pounds then buy an SLR! but if you have a small budget then this is the best you could probably find for the money.
