Advantages: Easy to use Disadvantages: Heavy on battery use
A superb budget camera for the £100 mark. I have previously owned several budget cameras with zoom etc, but have allways found other brands to have very poor picrure quality. This is not true for the Samsung.
There are several available modes on the camera such as Night mode, video and audio recording as well as 'Myset' shich allows you to customise the settings to your taste and manual operation.
Video recording in 640x480 at 30fps is impressive ... ...2-3 mins of video or around 500-700 photos dependant on settings. The sound quality produces on video clips is good.
Pictures taken are of very high quality, with 3x zoom you can get close to the action, but the digital zoom is not up to scratch producing very noisy images. The camera will automatically adjust the white balance and aslo has settings for taking a Sepia or BLack & White pictures.

Advantages: fantastic zoom, picture quality, value for money, reasonable size Disadvantages: fiddly buttons, confusing to manage flash, the camera mode and focus setting. Autofocus sound can be heard on avi video clips unless you take the time to alter the focus (everytime) to infinity or manual focus
..., the zoom on the video is a boon (however please note you cannot operate the optical zoom during videoing - you have to do it first!). It feels quality and is not too heavy which is great.
Nice camera. If you want optical zoom then go for it, if you dont care, save money and go for the m2 instead.
alternatively if you dont care about it being small, then take a look at the samsungdigimaxv4 for around the same price - but with more functionality.
i wouldnt hesitate to recommend the z3....

...Samsung has yet again reached us with another superb addition to its range of cameras. The SamsungDigimaxV5 has 5.1 Megapixel quality that is more than enough to create stunning, high quality pictures. It has various functions- Video, Sound etc. and a 3X optical zoom, 12X Digital zoom, also more than enough. It also comes with a 256MB SD card that can store approx 250 images at a time. It will connect to your computer via USB, for faster picture transferring. Being the son of a professional photographer, I know what I'm saying when I say this is a great camera!
