I bought this phone well over a year ago now, always sticking to the Samsung brand, as I lost my old phone. Recently my mum's phone broke, and as she isn't that good with technology, I decided to give her this one, and buy myself a new one. The Samsung SGH-E370 is a nice little practical phone, easy to use, and pretty durable.
*THE LOOK*
The Samsung SGH-E370 is all black, front and back, with just a silver trim around the main function buttons and on the buttons at the side. It's small and compact, and really light. It has a slide function, which when pushed up and down is oh so smooth. The buttons are easy to press, but won't get knocked too easily. I love texting with the phone as it just seems to easy and effortless, whereas with other phones i've had my hand has started to ache.
*BUTTONS*
On the main face of the phone (without it being slid up), there is the menu and contacts buttons situated
at the top left and right, these also unlock the phone, without the need to slide it up. In the middle is the main operation buttons, the up, down, left and right and the 'ok' button. Also on the front is the accept call (green button) and end call (red button) and also the cancel/delete button which is used for backspace on text messages. Apart from the cancel button the rest of them are fully functional without needing to slide the phone up. When the phone is slid up, the usual text and number keys are there. There is a camera button on the side of the phone which can be held in to take a quick picture without navigating through the menu. At the opposite side of the phone are the volume buttons.
*FUNCTIONS*
On the menu there are:
Call records Phonebook Applications - Music player, voice recorder, java world, world time, alarm, calculator, converter, timer and stopwatch Browser Messages File Manager - Images, videos, music, sounds, other files, memory status Calendar Camera Settings
*MORE IN-DEPTH*
The phone is MP3 format, and has a nice crisp sound, not tinny like you can find in some phones.
The voice recorder on it is quite good and picks up low sounds, and once again doesn't sound too tinny.
The camera is 1.3 megapixel, with 5x digital zoom and LED flash. The picture quality on this little phone is great, i think it's alot better than my new phone, and that's meant to have a better camera on it. The pictures taken are clear and even if not in a well lit room they are still good quality photos. And plus also with this camera when you press the 'take' button it actually takes the photo at that point, whereas with some phones you press the button and it doesn't take it straight away and if you slightly move it the picture is blurred, but not with this phone. The zoom function isn't great, it kind of distorts the picture, but whatever camera i use i never use the zoom function so that doesn't bother me.
The only problems with this phone for me are the video function and the battery life. Whenever i take a video, the lips are never in sync to the sound, the picture is clear enough, but it's never done any in sync. The battery life on this phone isn't too great, it hardly ever keeps full battery for long, and my mum doesn't sit around playing the games or listening to music off it, she only ever uses it to make/recieve a call or send the odd text message, so that isn't great.
The phone is MP3, but doesn't have alot of room to store them, with the average amount of photos and videos on the phone. For the purpose of this review i visited the Samsung website and it says the phone has 40mb of user memory, and the phone keeps saying it's got no memory left, and there isn't much stuff on the phone.
There are three java games on this phone -
Forgotten Warrior - 7/10 pretty much this boy fighting to find a girl through different levels
Freekick - 6/10 does what it says on the tin, pretty much trying to score a goal/hit a target, does get pretty repetitive
Arch Angel - not really played this, never really appealed to me, some sort of flying and shooting game
*BITS AND BOBS*
You can store upto 200 messages in the inbox, which is pretty much standard for the usual phone. 1000 Phonebook entries. It is Bluetooth and Email activated. The phone comes with a usb cable and file manager, so you can store you pictures/music/videos/mms and sms onto your computer(get some of that much needed memory back), or put your MP3 songs onto your phone. There is also the caller photo ID option, where when someone is ringing you, you can have a picture of them flash up on the phone. The phone comes with 40 polyphonic ringtones as well if you don't like your MP3, or for use of text messages/alarms etc.

All in all the Samsung SGH-E370 is a nice little practical phone. It's compact, lightweight, so easy to fit in a pocket or bag. It is very durable, it doesn't just break apart when dropped like some phones. The sound levels are nice and loud so you'll be able to hear it in a busy shopping center. Very functional, with a great sliding motion and ever so easy to use.
Thank you for reading.
