Since I wrote the below review, I've found a few very annoying features with this phone. The camera has a shortcut button on the side of the phone, except when you hear it clicking away in your bag and realise it's taken over 100 random photos! The phone doesn't seem to have the sense to store text messages in the phone's memory, and tells you the sim card memory is full after only 20/30 messages. Unlike with a Nokia, the phone will not turn itself on if you have the alarm set. Also unlike a Nokia, if you accidentally hit the wrong button when writing a text it will not be there when you go back in. I like my phone to vibrate and ring. However, if you set it to vibrate+ring, it vibrates only for a few seconds, then the melody kicks in. There is no option to activate both! And it goes to voicemail very quickly. On th plus side, the battery life is quite good (but that's using the standard battery) and the camera is ok quality for pictures. However, if you take a video, it's not too good and takes ages to save.
All in all I do like it and would get a Samsung again, but I'd pay more attention to detail rather than the way it looks. I just wish Nokia would bring out another tiny phone the the 8310, or a flip phone that 's worth being seen with!
I got this phone a couple of weeks ago and it's tiny for a video capture phone. It's fairly easy to use, but lacks certain useful traits such as being able to turn it onto silent easily (like with a Nokia). However it does have useful shortcuts such as for messaging, the camera, voice memos, GPRS and 2 which you can assign yourself. It has a selection of games and ringtones already, but Samsung have a website where you can get further free games, ringtones, wallpaper and screensavers just for registering which is great. Although it's small it's not flimsy like some small phones and when put on loud it can still make a fair racket. I wouldn't recommend this phone for those who want constant photo and video use as the quality isn't brilliant, but still acceptable. You won't find as much in such a small phone, but steer away from it if you're always talking or playing on your phone becuase although the battery life is good, it's not up to constant use.
