Over the years I've had every type of phone you can think of. From the "brick" to the flip to the slide, to the touch to the blackberry. You name it I've had it. My contrract was coming to an end and now it was time for me to "get with it" and get myself a smartphone.

To be honest I didn't have any knowledge at all of smartphones and what they did before I actually got one and started playing about with it. And I can tell you I'll never go back to using an ordinary run of the mill mobile.

I chose the Samsung Galaxy SII at the time because it was new out and I wanted to get the most from my upgrade. Samsung is a brand of phone I have had in the past and been very happy with plus the Galaxy SII had some fantastic reviews. I got mine via o2 online by ugrading my contract and it was free. But you can buy it on PAYG from many different places. Prices differ from place to place. It's £329 on www.amazon.co.uk

I have to say I love this phone. The only downside when I first got this phone for me was the fact that unlike my old touch screen phone I couldn't tap the screen with my false nails lol. It simply wouldn't respond. I was so used to doing this that having to use the pad of my finger tips did actually take quite a bit of getting used to, but now I don't even notice this.

The Samsung Galaxy SII is ultra slim but a bit taller than some other models (see dimensions above). It comes with a wide range of aps already installed like Facebook and Youtube. I loved the live wather wallpaper ap. It basically uses GPS and knows where you are and the weather on the screen changes to that of where you are. So if it's night time and raining, on the screen it's changed to night and it's raining! Cool or what! There are loads of free aps that you can download for the android phone available at:

What I love about this phone is that you can totally and fully customise EVERYTING!!! All you have to do is download the ap for whatever you want to customise annd you're away!

I've changed my text message background, the font, the colours the designs, ringtones, the keyboard colour, the actually theme on the phone. Everything. You can also get really funky cases on ebay for it and I've bought a few diamante ones to bling it up lol.

You can access your emails very easily with this phone by just clicking the icon. All you have to do at first is set it up with your email address and password.

Accessing Twitter and Facebook is very easy. Just click the ap and login with your details. After that your friends messages and comments will appear at the top of your phone for you to view and reply.

Ringtones and text tones are totally customisable.

The camera is 8MP and has a flash that you can also turn on or off or set to auto. There's also a cool self shot feature so you can easily snap pics of yourself :-)

The sound on this phone is brilliant and the speakerphone is the best I've ever used on a mobile phone. Clear as a bell.

The only downside I've found is the battery life. I find I have to charge it daily or it simply will not last. I think this is because the aps drain the battery life.

All in all the Samsung Galaxy SII is a winner. I love it and with the amount of aps that you can download for it the possibilities are never ending. I'm very happy with every aspect of it and would never go back.
