4 Stars A good phone, but boring Review with images 08/01/2011

Advantages Advantages Fantastic build quality, screen is awesome, processor fast as lightning, loads of RAM

Disadvantages Disadvantages Uses Bada, and I'm not doing any Bada-boom jokes

This is definitely a Samsung phone. From the moment you switch it on and hear its little welcome jingle, to the system icons that are strewn all over the interface, you can feel it is a Samsung product. As an experienced user of Samsung products in the past, they all have that same Fisher Price-like aesthetic that they love to maintain from model after model of mobile phone. The only phones that I know of that does not have this Samsung syndrome are the Samsung i8510 Innovate, which uses the Symbian OS (a phone that I adored) and the Samsung Galaxy S, which uses the Android OS. So, why does ... more

Advantages Advantages Super AMOLED Screen, Great Build Quality, Sleek Design, Fast CPU, Great Fresh OS

Disadvantages Disadvantages Small range of apps

Samsung released the first ever Bada powered mobile phone, the Wave. First impressions are good. It comes in a small box, which contains, a user manual, two mini CD's with drivers, the charger, data cable and of course the handset itself. You see the Wave for the first time and it exceeds all expectations, it looks stunning. It's made mostly of brushed aluminium which looks and feels amazing. Even the plastic looks good. Dominating the front of the device is a generously sized 3.3" WVGA display, but this isn't your bog standard TFT screen, it's actually a Super AMOLED screen. What does this ... more

Advantages Advantages AMOLED display and ability to record HD video

Disadvantages Disadvantages Less Apps Available than on other phones

I was offered the Samsung Wave as part of my upgrade. I originally wanted the HTC desire, but was told that was sold out but could have the Samsung and an extra £5 off my Monthly payment. I quickly did a bit of research online and saw potentially good things going for this smart little phone including AMOLED screen, nice processor and ability to record in HD. I didn't really use my previous phone for anything other than calls/texts/pictures, so wasn't really put off by the fact that the phone uses the Bada operating system and I might not have been able to download the same Apps compared to ... more

Advantages Advantages Features rival iphone, HD display and video camera are awesome, Sleek metallic casing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Still photos are often blurry, Many Iphone/Android apps not available, Software update issue

It is annoying that the BADA Operating system doesn't support most of the popular apps found on iphones or android phones though there are a lot of good ones and new ones are added to the app store all the time. One issue I have is that there are some apps which require the latest update of the BADA OS. However, to my knowledge this is not available but apps which require it have been on the app store for some time. I particularly wanted to download the iMapMyRun app but was unable to. I don't use the facebook app as I find it is limited compared to the web version which you can access in the ... more

Advantages Advantages Greate battery life, smooth screen selection, slim phone, light weight

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of Apps available

Let’s start off with the way the phone feels and performs. The look of the Wave is sleek, stylish and modern making it a great competitor in the Smartphone industry. The buttons and touch screen are easy to use with smooth running of the OS. Battery life in the beginning was very poor so asked for a replacement which still did not resolve the issue, but once the phone body was replaced (whole new phone) the battery life was amazing last on average a full 5-6days with regular use of all applications which did leave to a whole set of batch numbers been faulty. The camera is of very high quality ... more
