Advantages AMOLED display and ability to record HD video

Disadvantages Less Apps Available than on other phones

I was offered the Samsung Wave as part of my upgrade. I originally wanted the HTC desire, but was told that was sold out but could have the Samsung and an extra £5 off my Monthly payment. I quickly did a bit of research online and saw potentially good things going for this smart little phone including AMOLED screen, nice processor and ability to record in HD. I didn't really use my previous phone for anything other than calls/texts/pictures, so wasn't really put off by the fact that the phone uses the Bada operating system and I might not have been able to download the same Apps compared to those phones running Android.
A couple of days later my new phone turned up and I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. I quickly set up a wifi connection to my Home Network, which is a great feature of phones like these for those who have limited download usages with their provider. I downloaded a couple of videos from YouTube and was incredibly impressed with the AMOLED display. It is brilliant. The other great thing with this phone is the fact it records in HD. My friends aren't geeks or anything but they were all blown away with the quality of film the phone is able to capture.
The Operating system takes a bit of getting used to, as with most smart phones, but once you play around with it, it becomes natural, as with all things.
I did notice that I started to become more involved with social networking sites-simply because I could quickly and easily use the pre-installed Apps to access Facebook and Twitter. Not sure if that is a good or bad point :-)
This actually led me to see what other Apps were available for the Samsung Wave and unfortunately here's the stumbling point for this phone- there were hardly any. I downloaded a few games, driving games were great and free! kept me busy for ages whilst travelling on holiday as did the fact I could watch movies stored on Micro SD card.
The amount of Apps are increasing on daily basis and like other Apps stores there are useful ones and not so useful ones. My advice is if you dont mind waiting a little bit longer to get similar Apps to those on Android or other more popular operating systems then this phone may not be for you, but if you manage to get a great deal with a mobile provider then go for it, you could do a lot worse.
