Advantages Advantages Versatile phone offering a responsive screen, excellent sound quality, good internet browsing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery life, clunky Kies software

A few months ago I decided to buy my daughter a new mobile phone. She had been using the Samsung Jet but her love of Twitter revealed the Jet to be lacking somewhat when it came to surfing the internet. My daughter rarely uses her phone to make calls, preferring to text or surf the web with it. It therefore made sense to get her a 3G phone so internet surfing was easier. There were other issues with the Jet, including a touchscreen which was notoriously non-responsive and a memory card slot which wasn't particularly reliable, constantly knocking the card out of place. Last year I got a Samsung ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Crashes. Small internal memory.

Samsung Galaxy Ace GT5830 Back in August 2012 my old phone decided it was time for us to go our separate ways and died on me. The phone in question was my Samsung Tocco Lite, I had had the phone for around 2 and a half years and up until the day the touch screen stopped working I had had no problems and because of this I decided to have a Samsung phone again. As my phone broke two days before I was due to fly home to Birmingham for my mums wedding I decided to wait and buy one while I was back over as at least I would be able to ask any questions and read any information I needed to know ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, compact enough size as a smart phone, good quality & features, keen prices.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be slow, constant WIFI reminder & battery life.

“You can’t be serious,” my friend said as we sat about at a table at Starbucks a couple of weeks ago, “it doesn’t take half an hour to load up the internet on your phone, surely!” she said, patronizingly. “It does, and don’t call me Shirley,” I replied, jokingly. Seriously though. Such is the life of a traditional Nokia 1100 user. I’ve had my Pay as you Go (PAYG) 1100 now for a good couple of years and it was bought to replace an equally older, blockier “brick” Nokia that had been dropped, kicked, largely abused and only required a replacement front fascia cover that cost something as ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Headphones

When it came to changing my contract and phone last year, I had no idea what I wanted. This was going to be the first time I would have an android phone so I knew that I wanted something easy to use and as silly as this may sound, I had acrylic nails at the time so I needed something easy to text with. After a sales woman let me play with quite a few different phones, I went with the Samsung Galaxy Ace, which seemed to do everything that I wanted. As I am on a contract, I didn’t buy the phone outright but it does cost me £35 a month which includes 600 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, great features, lots of apps on offer, great battery life and low cost unit

Disadvantages Disadvantages can lag at times, low internal memory and maybe not that in vogue at the moment.

I’ve used quite a few mobile phones over the years, starting with those ones that were the size of a house brick and you had to carry the battery around with you in a rucksack, or in a side car. So it’s nice to see that these mobile phones are not only getting smaller but are getting much more like personal computers, helping me in my daily life with such things as note taking, date setting and more. One particular phone that I have used for a while, and sometimes still do use when I need to as I technically own it as I finished paying for it once I’d paid the contract that I was in, is from a ... more
