Samsung HT-THX 200 R

Advantages: Good styling and easy set up
Disadvantages: Poor value for money and sound not adjustable

...Was very easy to set up, and links well with a Samsung TV using the 'Anytime system, plus the clean sleek glossy styling is easy on the eye. The downside is that the bass is too deep and not adjustable, and a very noticable 'static noise' comes in after about half an hour after the system has been switched on. I have heard since that others have noticed this only through a games console but i have had the same effect through watching satellite and terrestial TV. I queried this with Samsung who advised to move other units around and away from the unit and also try changing the socket it is plugged into but the noise still appears. Overall the looks are great, and the sounds ok, but thats about it. My opinion its poor value for money.... Read review

...it is a very nice sounding system but the reality is its not really that great if you want to purchase this set then dont. go and buy the 5.1 version instead as this isnt a true 2.1 system so you dont get surround it has speaker inputs for rear an centre aswell jus they are covered up also this system doesnt appear to upscale to HD resolution it does 576p. there are no res. settings either, samsung told me that it does it automatically. but it doesnt. if you buy this hoping to get rear and centre speakers seperatly then good luck, i found it impossible. the 5.1 would be a nice system but you can get better for the same price or a very little more... Advantages: Excellent bargain Home Cinema System
Disadvantages: Sound Quality is good but not perfect

...Having just purchased a 32 Inch Samsung R73 LCD TV, i was obviously in need of a new Home Cinema System. Many of you you will be wondering why i didnt go fo rthe retro Q100 system, with its fantastic piano black looks to go with teh TV. Well for one its only 3 speakers and not 5, and secondly this produces better sound and is half the price.... And damn it still looks sexy as hell with my TV. From out of the box to working takes around 5 mins, and the length of the speaker wires is excellent for a small to medium size room.... One very careful point, if you do purchase this system, take note of where Samsung tell you to position the speakers... theres a very good reason for this, i didnt follow their instructions originally and thought that the sound was poor.
