Advantages: clean looking, excellent quailty, low price, great sound Disadvantages: not a full hd player
...Having purchased the SamsungHT-X30 in a package deal with a Samsung 42" plasma, i can say that i was impressed staright away.
The main dvd unit is the same piano black as my tv, with an eluminated blue power button, again the same as my tv. This system upscales into HD, 1080 to precise, when coupled to an hdtv via a hdmi cable the quality is outstanding, maybe not as good as a genuine hd player, but not bad. I had a top of the range pano 1000w system before and for sound quality the samsung system totally out classes it, 5.1 and 850w, just perfect. The system has an HDMI output, plus a scart and a usb on the front, the remote is easy to use and the system is easily set up. Love it....

Advantages: Good styling and easy set up Disadvantages: Poor value for money and sound not adjustable
...Was very easy to set up, and links well with a Samsung TV using the 'Anytime system, plus the clean sleek glossy styling is easy on the eye. The downside is that the bass is too deep and not adjustable, and a very noticable 'static noise' comes in after about half an hour after the system has been switched on. I have heard since that others have noticed this only through a games console but i have had the same effect through watching satellite and terrestial TV.
I queried this with Samsung who advised to move other units around and away from the unit and also try changing the socket it is plugged into but the noise still appears.
Overall the looks are great, and the sounds ok, but thats about it. My opinion its poor value for money....

Advantages: Sleek speaker set up, great sound and playback features Disadvantages: DVD player looks like a 1980s video recorder!
...We have just purchased this system with a 32" Samsung TV. Although at first it was confusing (we have only had Sony products before) we set it up quickly and it is a good looking system. The surround speakers are sleek and well made, easy to hide and have the advantage of (the rear two) going wireless with the purchase of an extra wireless card. The woofer box is large in size but compact enough to remain inconspicuous to the viewer.
The sound actually rivals our Sony system and we have had it up to max (awesome!)
Playback features include Media file (via USB), MP3, DivX. Warning though it does not support the playback of CD-ROM, DVD-ROMs or any other region DVDs. A great system considering the budget price....
