I have this camera, and it is really, really good! It's really easy to use and the screen is really big-great for seeing photos on. The photo quality is excellent, and the different effects and frames are really good. Yet another value added product from SAMSUNG, the 8.2-megapixel Samsungi8 features an 3x internal optical zoom lens and 230,000-pixel, 2.7-inch LCD.
It was recommended to me by a friend of mine.
The camera also functions as a media player for video and MP3 playback, with a 2.5mm headphone port and an external speaker with SRS 3D acoustic technology, which I really like. It makes me enjoy my works with the camera.
Among its other notable features are face-detection autofocus and autoexposure, a self-portrait mode that will only snap a shot when your face is in the middle of the frame, automatic redeye removal, a Multi-Slide Show mode that adds transitions and user-loaded MP3s to on-camera slideshows, and built-in help.
I suggest this as a real value for its money. ...

This is a fantastic small camera, i previously owned a compact samsung camera, but was pushed to buy the ricoh R7 as i do get inspiration from reviews myself and the ricoh had exellent reviews on various sites. The ricoh has lived up to its expectations which i am overwhelmed as i wasted alot of pictures of my baby boy when he was newly born as the compact sumsung was useless at capturing moving subjects, like babies. After purchasing the Ricoh it was more or less a case of figuring out a few settings a then snapping away and producing some very impressive photos. I highly recommend for someone who wants hassle free photos or maybe even for the slightly more professional, as this camera does also have quite alot of features. the only downfall i can spot is a background noise on the video recordings, which i dont mind as it kind of sounds ...
Advantages: Cheap, small. Disadvantages: Average picture and poor video audio, fiddly USB connector, poorly placed zoom lever.
I bought this camera as a cheap third camera to carry around all the time. With this review, I compared the samsung to another compact I have, the casio exilim Z750, note this is an older 7.2 megapixel camera. For serious stuff I use my Nikon DSLRs.
Picture quality
On the whole, very average quality outdoors and the camera doesn't handle differences with light and dark too well, e.g. very bright sun and dark shadow. In this case, the camera overexposes and produces unbalanced pictures. It does this even in normal light conditions. The colours are also washed out. Not impressed. After a few weeks of ownership and comparison with the casio, it definitely has poor quality. To be fair though, the casio compact whilst older was a lot more expensive.

I walked around the garden and house taking identical pictures ...
