I had this for Christmas in black and loved it straight away unlike most cameras that i have to read the instructions for before i can even take a shot. The camera is compact so will fir in your pocket or nicely in a bag. Its everything at your fingertips. Its so easy to use and with 9 buttons looks stylish and looks complicated(which is great because not everyone knows its easy) With a face recognition AF & AE no more blurred pictured for shaky hands like when its cold or when kids are jumping over you.
If i was going to buy a camera for a gift i would definitely buy this one for them as i know they would like it, if i was going to buy a camera for a photographer or someone who takes pictures for a living i would perhaps go for something a bit different,
You can charge the camera through the usb cable through the computer so when you are on your computer and you have a usb slot available you can charge it and leave it till its finished. I usually charge mine for 4 hours before im going out and know that im going to use it, and that will last for 2 days and then if you are like me and transfer the photos to computer it will charge it will transferring
