1) the viewing angle is TERRIBLE! watching from dead centre is fine but move left or right slightly and the picture begins to wash the colours out and strange things happen to brightness and contrast.
2) there is an issue with some type of ghosting, this can even be seen on both xbox 360 and Blu-ray movies, both are connected to the tv ... ...one part of the movie is a conversation between Bruce Willis and a woman, Bruce is wearing black cammo paint, the camera flicks between the two to follow the conversation but when it flicks to the woman you can still see the outline of bruce willis's face for a half a second or so, im noticing this effect more and more, the response time on the LCD panel is slow.. as mentioned i can notice this too sometimes flicking thru the xbox 360 dashboard but ... more

The sound quality is quite poor but spending a little time going thru the sound options should help you get something that you can live with.
Don't get me wrong, this is a good value for money TV if you can live with the mentioned problems and it does have good points, the black levels are the best ive seen on a LCD so far and in general the HD picture is amazing but if you are using this tv for family viewing then the poor viewing angles may be a big problem.

The Samsung LE40B530 is a thing to behold! it looks elegant and stylish and keeps up with the usual samsung look I am used to seeing. I think as far as tvs go it is by far the finest looking television on the market at the moment. The picture quality is brilliant and the sound is sharp, clear and is high quality. The steps of installation are simple to folow and made easy by the smiplicity of the remote control which is also simple and efficient ...

The Samsung LE40B530 is nothing to shout and rave about. but it is a a good tv for it's very reasonable price, I only paid around £600 and for a 40" TV I think this is a great price and as for mine and it has had some small problems in the past but besides the rare problem this TV has been great its delivered top sound and picture quality as it has a great resolution (1920 x 1080 ). however i feel this TV has nothing that makes it stand out from ... ...amazing and has everything you'l need or want for a low price of £600 its not lacking in anything you'd expect and has plenty of slots on the back. however mine did have to be taken back due to techniqual problems but it was still under warranty and thats why i feel i dont fully trust this TV. ...
