There are things I like about this TV, and there are things I don't. At first glance, it's an extremely appealing television. It is sleek, shiny black, compact, fairly full featured, has an integrated stand, and the price isn't bad.
But. That shiny black surface is a magnet for dust. You ... Read review

Advantages: Sleek, space saving. Disadvantages: Dust attraction. Poor sound.
There are things I like about this TV, and there are things I don't. At first glance, it's an extremely appealing television. It is sleek, shiny black, compact, fairly full featured, has an integrated stand, and the price isn't bad.
But. That shiny black surface is a magnet for dust. You want to keep it clean right? They include a smart blue lint-free cleaning cloth to keep that dust at bay, and you are going to need it. It really does attract dust. ... ...mind.
As I said, it does look very nice, but there's a price to pay.
The second bad point, is that you can't turn it off. This is common on many new televisions. You have to actually unplug it to completely turn off the power. It's either on, or in standby. Having said that, the standby mode uses a very small amount of power. In normal use, the power consumption is 45W. In standby it's around 2W. So fairly small, but something you might want to ...

Advantages: Cheap, Compact, Black gives a better picture Disadvantages: Not a lot of extras
The Samsung LE 10 R 71B (whatever that jargon means) is a nice compact tv that would do justice in any small room, and 19in is just about right so that you wont be straining your eyes to make out a picture. Firstly the price being around £250 for a 19" HD ready lcd tv is extremely good; and secondly the fact it is being samsung means that its coming from one of the top brands of electronic suppliers. And a useful fact for you that samsung supplies ... ...by buying a samsung. Personally Samsung is my preferred brand on any electrical item with the exception of possibly pc's and mp3 players!
The remote is again with most cheapish tv's, well made, but nothing special. It is simple to use and the IR beam is strong, meaning that you wont have to fidget around trying to turn the channel!
I always have preferred a black tv being CRT or LCD purely because I feel the picture has then a border around it ...

having got this tv for a bedroom it is a great size. it is compact and does not take up a lot of space. set up was easy plug your sat reciver and dvd player in press auto set up and thats it done with no problem. the picture is good but the refresh rat could be better as there is a bit of stuttering on fast action pictures. sound is great when you have it set to your as you want it.

Advantages: good quality picture Disadvantages: not the best in the range
i had the chance to use this tv just before xmas at my uncles place and i thought it deserved a comment.
for the price i must say i think it should be a little cheaper than preasently sold for but if you are buying an lcd for the first time then it is a good place to start.
it is a little on the small side for a large lounge but perfect for a bedroom.
the picture quality isnt the best i have experienced and its not exactly the easiest thing to ... ...the moveable base unit isnt the most stable one out there but it does the job and can be ok, sometimes a little on the stiff side when it comes to manouverability, but its not a top of the range model.
i found the connections in the back a little stiff to but once all put together seems pretty stable.
overall this lcd tv once set up has good usability and doesent seem to have to many problems. again i say for a first lcd or and second house tv ...

Advantages: Good price, nice design Disadvantages: At times picture can be poor
This television is a good looking one, it has the same design as the bigger more expensive ones. Many other smaller LCD televisions look like PC monitors, so if you are conscious about how you want your television to look then this may be a good option. It is a reasonably small unit which menas that it can be placed in most rooms. The stand that comes with it is well made and also slides back in order fo the television to be mounted onto the wall. ... ...the television is simple and the instructions are relatively easy to use. One of the downsides is the small amount of scart sockets, there are only 2 which is not good if you plan to attach a large amount of extras. The picture quality is good but can get slightly grainy at times. If you are using a digital signal the picture becomes very good, so I would suggest this television if you are using freeview or any other digital television service. The ...
