This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. Paying for the TV was the biggest bugbear followed closely by the sheer size and nightmare it was to get into my flat (I had to unpack it in the hallway). Advantages: Good picture, Freeview, stylish Disadvantages: Scratches without proper care
This TV is very elegant and sophisticated. Unlike most it has a curved bottom edge which makes it a less harsh than a straight rectangular TV.
The picture is of a good quality even when you don't have access to HD channels. Also, a major plus is that it comes with Freeview meaning you can hang it on the wall without unsightly wires hanging down to connect to a Freeview box.
The frame size isn't too large so that makes the screen look a lot bigger. ... ...you were thinking of getting due to this as the size is deceptive. When your setting it up it guides you through the steps making it very easy. It even helps you with setting up the Freeview which is built in. The remote control is simple to use and you can control the DVD and VCR players with it also.
In addition, it has quality sound. A good place to buy the TV is Amazon, that's where I got mine and it was about £150 cheaper than my local electrical ...

Samsung always aim for the \'cheaper\' end of the market and in such a competitve market, manage to move the goal posts with their products. The Samsung LE37R87 continues the tradition as the quality look and feel really do raise the bar, making other equally capable TV\'s appear inferior quality. However, it is not just the surface that looks classy (if you like the piano back finish). The picture quality is also spot on. In particular the backs, ... ...good with the blacks really appearing jet black.
What HiFi recommended this TV as a 5 star product and they were right. I bought one and have never regretted it. One point to note however, is that sound quality is poor. But there again it is poor on most 37\" TV\'s on the basis that if you spend upwards of £700 on a TV then you would be mad not to upgrade the sound to a proper surround system.

I was very sceptical about spending a lot of money on this TV when clearly, there were ones cheaper. The chap at Currys was very helpful in showing me the differences and what I was paying for. The colour is so clear and sharp compared to other cheaper brands, and the HD side is phenominal. I could not believe the difference it made, and I will be upgrading my Sky package to incorporate HD. The R87 range from Samsung forms the companies new base range LCD TVs, but as such, connectivity and features will not be found wanting. Three HDMIs are accompanied by 2 Scarts, component video, pc input and an Integrated Digital TV tuner (IDTV) for Freeview.
