This is a very good LCD TV, for the price it costs at this moment. The high contrast, the full HD resolution and the 100 Hz refresh rate, make this TV a very pleasant experience. I found that the 100 Hz motion flow technology really makes a difference on fast scenes, such as sports footage. Other important features are the digital tv tunner, and a good amount of hdmi connectivity. One of the major flaws I found out only after buying it, is that the digital tv tunner doesnt suppor mpeg-4 (high definition), which is the technology adopted for digital TV in my country (Portugal). In conclusion, I think you'll found this TV an excellent aquisition, although there are currently more recent models form samsung with improved features, but more pricy.

...when i turned up the Samsung the speaker began to shatter and produced a high treble noise which was extremely annoying, making me resort to the home cinema. Anyways, in order to conclude, my point is that the Plasma, in my opinion is much better, even though it was older and less expensive. Please think twice before choosing which technology to buy. I reccomed Plasma all the way. ...

===First the bad:===
*It has a fan - and you can hear it! If it weren't for this, I would have rated it 5*
* Quality control suspect? My first set had no screw threads in two of the wall bracket holes - the set was replaced. My second set had a fault which meant teletext didn't work, and it always turned on to channel 16. Replaced again. Third time lucky, and the fan was quieter than the other two - but still too loud. (At 10 feet viewing ... ...you're using it to wake you up in the morning you need to check it regularly. It loses the time setting altogether when you switch off the mains.
*If the set is off, when you wipe it round with the duster, it switches on. (I would never have noticed this one! :-)
===Now what you'd expect:===
*The sound is good for a flat panel TV, but that's it. You can't expect HiFi from a plastic case this size. Quality sound is a science of its own, and LF ...

Also the viewing angle on the television is very good as you can watch the tv from nearly 180 degrees. The 1080p screen resolution helps moving objects look smooth. This tv also has a few disadvantages. The Movie Plus and Edge Enhancement processing. these can cause flickering and and the sound quality ...

I have owned this TV for just under two weeks, and so far I can not praise it enough.
When watching a wild life program I could truly appreciate the picture quality. It was as though I was seeing the scenery with my own eyes and not through a TV at all. I don't even receive a HD signal so to think that I am not seeing the picture at its full potential is well unbelievable.
The sound quality is Okay all though to be honest I always have the auxiliary ... ...The TV remote is well laid out and easy to use, the only draw back of the remote is that it uses the tiny batteries that most people will not have around the house, so when the batteries do run down it will mean that you can't 'borrow' them from from something else. ...

Lovely set, very very pleased with the purchase. Excellent standard def quality, bright crisp clear image and unbelievable when hooked up to my my panasonic blu ray on 1080p.
Sound quality is also good, and actually the rose black red colour quite muted and elegent
would certainly recommend this tv ...

We've had this system for well over a year now. It is paired up with a SamsungLE40A656 in our bedroom. The room is 11 feet by 13 feet, and in this environment the Sony is absolutely ideal.
There is some discussion about the sound output being low, but I don't think this is the case at all. You need to have the control set to 60 to 65, which is most of the way, but at this position the sound output is exactly what you need for a good action movie. You couldn't have it at this level in a joined-on house, the neighbours would probably set the dog on you. Some people have suggested that the high level of the volume control means the unit is going to run out of headroom. This is not so, it is only a control position, nothing more. The amps are all very well specified, and produce all the power you need (in a room this size). I never tried ...
