Anyways, in order to conclude, my point is that the Plasma, in my opinion is much better, even though it was older and less expensive. Please think twice before choosing which technology to buy. ...you're using it to wake you up in the morning you need to check it regularly. It loses the time setting altogether when you switch off the mains. *If the set is off, when you wipe it round with the duster, it switches on. I have owned this TV for just under two weeks, and so far I can not praise it enough. When watching a wild life program I could truly appreciate the picture quality. It was as though I was seeing the scenery with my own eyes and not through a TV at all. I don't even receive a HD signal so to think that I am not seeing the picture at its full potential is well unbelievable. Lovely set, very very pleased with the purchase. Excellent standard def quality, bright crisp clear image and unbelievable when hooked up to my my panasonic blu ray on 1080p. Sound quality is also good, and actually the rose black red colour quite muted and elegent would certainly recommend this tv

...We've had this system for well over a year now. It is paired up with a Samsung LE40A656 in our bedroom. The room is 11 feet by 13 feet, and in this environment the Sony is absolutely ideal. There is some discussion about the sound output being low, but I don't think this is the case at all. You need to have the control set to 60 to 65, which is most of the way, but at this position the sound output is exactly what you need for a good action movie. You couldn't have it at this level in a joined-on house, the neighbours would probably set the dog on you. Some people have suggested that the high level of the volume control means the unit is going to run out of headroom. This is not so, it is only a control position, nothing more.
