Samsung are not well recognised to produce quality user-friendly laser printers due to their lack of ... promotions and advertisements of their products. (Quite modest of them)
A laser printer that has gone well past its sell-by date, Samsung ML4500, an old Samsung model which has gone unnoticed... But as they say 'Old is Gold'.
People have already started noticing some of the common faults and defects of modern day-to-day produced products. Believe you me, some of these products are upgraded from previous models, but overall, the olden models seem to always last longer and work better.
Here I'm taking the Samsung ML4500, as an example, which I have owned for 4 years and still works good as new. I bought mine from Dixons for £100 which I think is very good for a laser.
What is exceptionally outstanding about this printer in latest IT solutions and home-user satisfaction, is that the printer is an affordable, compact laser printer. Thats right I said 'laser' printer.
First off, laser printers are very different to an average inkjet printer, and average inkjet printer will do a top speed of 10 pages per min printing. Well comprable, the laser tops top speed of 19 pages per min. Nearly double that is!
With reasonable print quality, the printer is actually officially announced as the cheapest cost-per page printer.
This means, the printer uses optic lasers to print so fine, that little ink is used, but print quality is also maintained by smudging the ink down the paper, to places where ink is needed, which is amazing, no printer can do. this This saves ink drastically.
The print resolution is 600dpi, which is not as good compared to latest printers, but then this printer is ment to be old antique.
Even with 600dpi, pictures are printed near enough to perfection, the only difference between this and modern printers is when printing a photo quality deep print, the print will no where near match a photo quality printer.
Options of a micro-toner is avaliable, which turns of the smudging of the ink, to produce a fine quality sharp print.
A 2 megabyte (MB) memory capacity, is so the computer can send a 2MB of information to printer, so when computer turns off, printer can print documents from its own memory.
There is a one-touch feature, to cancel print, select reprint, choose toner mode.
The input tray will hold 150 pages.- Good if you can afford that many sheets - Oh yes and save the trees. :o)
Very easy instalation and very easy setup. So many features of the laser printer, yet so amazingly simple. I was quite amazed at the simplicity when I bought this printer.
The ink cartridges can be found for about £35, but remember, it is a laser printer.
Just on a final note, I'd like to amaze ya. The cost of the ink cartridges seem expensive to me, but with one cartridge, the printer will print 2500 pages. Even better, when the toner mode is on, to save ink, the printer will print 3500 pages!!!
Great printer, great Samsung, Sam has sung, let us hear your comments ...
