Don't let the seductive looks of this camera decieve you. Because it certainly did me! If you are still in search for the 'perfect' camera to splash your hard earned cash on, don't go near this one! Yes, it is 10 MP. Yes, it has an innovative 'touch-sensitive' button system. Yes, the flash compartment pops up everytime you use the flash so that your friends go 'ooh' everytime you take a photo. Don't get me wrong, it's not that this camera won't take the photos you want, it's just it might take a bit longer and more takes than you'd like. Most photos tend to come out blurry (sometimes even when you're using the flash), although it does have the 'anti-shake' feature, which does eliminate the blurryness, but they take a lot longer to "process". Also, its far too often that you don't realise the photo you've taken was actually blurry until you extract it from the pretty thing onto the computer.
Video feature: unlike other older camera models, this doesn't have a limited video time-limit, so you can take a video as long as your memory card will allow you to. But, and this is a big BUT. I recently realised after using this feature at one of my long awaited concerts that, to my dismay, my videos came out (with sound) but with chunks of the sound cut off. Turns out everytime I zoomed whilst I was video-ing, the sound cuts off. I'm not sure whether all other users have found this problem too but I shall ask Samsung Technical Support about this when I take it in to get the battery compartment fixed. About a month after I purchased this, and I'm usually relatively good to my gadgets, the slide mechanism of the battery compartment is busted so the battery compartment won't close. Now it's held together with a bit of black tape in order to blend into the wonderful matte black finish.
But I do have to give it to this camera that it does have a lot of functions, the high speed function, ability to adjust the 'warm-ness cold-ness' of the screen as you are taking the photo (eg adjusting the colour so that its more yellow under harsh flourescent surroundings), in addition to the contrast. Extremely impressive digital focus. Under adaquate lighting this is an excellent camera.
