(+) Across the board the ES55 doesn't operate at a lightning pace but fares well against competitors. (-) in between shots and whenever editing options or effects are applied this unit does take its time

I bought this samsung after actually trawling both high street shops and the internet looking at numerous reviews and pictures and faults of many models. I ended up picking this model and am so happy that i did this! I have taken over 3000 pictures so far and only had the camera a few months! shop around and you can get a bargain on it, some great features on it you can programme for settings you might use often - such as i often use it to take scence ... ...unbelivbale how cheap you can get this amazing camera for. lovely looks on it also i love the metal black sleek case and it has a great picture viewer on the back! I totally love the button configuration also you just brush your fingers over the buttons to look at teh pictures! love this new idea by sony. ...

...interface works like the other samsung camera models (nv8,nv10,nv11) and is packed full of features, all easily accessible without having to search through dozens of menus.
The red eye fix feature is superb and works well and the asr (anti shake feature) reduces blurred photos for those who have unsteady hands The 2.5" lcd screen displays images well.

For outstanding image quality NV20 features premium Schneider optics with a 3x optical zoom. On the back of the camera's brushed, stainless steel bodies, lies Samsung's Smart Touch user interface. Smart Touch enables easy navigation of the camera's comprehensive feature sets by simply sliding a finger across the control buttons positioned around the 2.5" LCD screen. The NV20 can also shoot at ISO 3200, and boast an improved Advanced Shake Reduction (ASR) feature as well as Samsung's new Auto Contrast Balance (ACB) and Image Noise Reduction modes. ACB automatically adjusts the brightness of subjects composed in harsh lighting, such as those that are back-lit, and the Image Noise Reduction helps limit the amount of noise in captured images, especially those shot at higher ISO settings. This camera features Samsung's Face Detection technology, which makes taking pictures of family and friends a snap. Samsung's Face Detection feature detects up to nine faces and automatically adjusts focus and exposure to ensure better composition and image quality.
