Advantages: Superb design, Intuitive menus.
Disadvantages: Image quality, ISO response, innacurate manual setting

...away very tidily behind the samsung logo. HOWEVER. I fear this may well be a mutton/lamb case. I started messing about with the camera, taking a few shots of railings opposite my house to have a look at the quality. Appaling! There is a massive amount of noise even at the lowest ISO with the highest quality settings. The pointing on a brick wall 20 yards away at the wide end of the lens' range becomes indistinguishable amongst the noise and colour ...
...There was no sign of chromatic aberration on my camera, leading me to believe the problem lies with the sensor/image processing. Less than 24 hours I returned it to the shop. I tried a different NV7 only to discover the same problems. I can only compare it to a fuji s5000 I owned a few years ago which was cheaper (even then) and significantly higher quality. i believe for the money you are getting a good camera, its great looking and it does very good video in fact i think out of the quality of the video and some of the photos the video quality wins. i have had a few accidents with this camera and it has fallen from a height of about 2m so i was pleased when i picked it up to find it was still in working order. the camera has quite a large lens so it doesn't fit in most pockets.it does take a long time ...
...those action shots you were hoping for. all in all if your are looking for a camera that's cheap, stylish,and has great quality images you should look for another camera but if a poorer image quality does not bother you this is the camera for you. ...For a compact camera this is quite a powerful little guy to carry around with you. I spotted this in the Jan sales with £100 off and for a top of the range compact it was well worth splashing the cash on one considering what you get for your money! Not only do you get a 14.7 megapixel camera. Yes, that's right - a 14.7! You also get a built-in High Definition video recorder. With a decent memory card inside of the Samsung NV100HD you can take a lot of really great high quality snaps and the camera itself is very compact, hence the name. Since buying this I've never left the house without it. ...This particular camera sits in the middle of the NV series by Samsung, though the NV3 and NV7 are more well known then this particular model. However, I happen to think that this particular model is perhaps undeservingly overlooked. The resolution is 7.2MP, so it can certainly match a large selection of cameras on offer in the same price bracket for quality. You can adjust that to a lower setting if you do not want to use up too much memory per photo. That said, even on a lower setting, it still produces quite respectable photos, with sharp images and colours looking realistic and clear. As for the memory, the internal memory is only 19MB, so you will need either an SD card or a MMC card - either format is supported.
