I bought the Samsung PS43D450 in April 2011 and have been very pleased with the product.
Samsung released this as a quality HD Tv that would be great value for money - and it delivers. The TV has a HD Ready 43" Plasma Screen, 2 HDMI sockets - useful for playing movies from your laptop, aswell as a USB. The TV was very quick to install following the guide book and the remote control has so far held up well and has a great connection even from a distance.
IN THE BOX
Along with the TV itself you get TV a pedestal stand which is handy as it is not too big as to be placed on a current stand and yet not too small to be placed on its own.
The colours are crystal clear on the 43" 1024 x 768 resolution and can be customised to your own preferences. The 600hz subfield motion is one of the key components in making this display particularly impressive. I would suggest changing the settings from the original settings that you get when you buy it as the quality can be improved. The sound is also very good - coming from Dolby Digital and with a range of options available such as a noise filter.
FEATURES and FUNCTIONS
In terms of functions there is no Samsung Smart TV - so you don't have a web browser or skype etc...essentially no online possibilities but I personally find that online possibilites complicate the basic needs of a TV in any case. There is no 3D features or touch control but there is a noise filter as well as a game mode which is great. The game mode was a particularly good feature for me personally as my last Samsung TV did not have this and suffered when I played games from my console.
So far I have had no problems with the TV at all. I would say that it does get warm quite quickly depending on your settings and what you are using it for. For example when playing games from my console in game mode it does have a tendency to heat quickly but it does have an anti burn screen feature so this is not a big issue (yet anyway!) unless you have something important behind the TV.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate the Samsung PS43D450 8/10. It does everything a basic user wants - it is not outstanding but it is not poor by any means. In comparison to other TVs in the price range I would say it is near the top end. To sum it up in one phrase - it is a HD quality value for money product.
