Both were options for me but it is far more impressive when mounted.
Installation and setting up the TV was simple. The instructions ... ...two of us to mount it to the wall. It has a built in freeview box which automatically scans for the channels during installation and the TV guide mode is clearer and more detailed than most other freeview guides I have experienced.
The remote control is easy to use and looks good too. It also can be used as a multi remote, although I have never tried. One thing which I particularly like is that the battery cover is connected to it ... more

Installation and setting up the TV was simple. The instructions were clear. It is however heavy and it took two of us to mount it to the wall. It has a built in freeview box which automatically scans for the channels during installation and the TV guide mode is clearer and more detailed than most other freeview guides I have experienced.
The remote control is easy to use and looks good too. It also can be used as a multi remote, although I have never tried. One thing which I particularly like is that the battery cover is connected to it by a plastic link. Personally I hate when the battery covers are missing off things, not least because I lost the cover on my old TV's remote and everytime I put the control down the batteries dropped out.
What I use this TV most for is my xbox 360 and I have to say that it is a great experience. The sound is clear, the picture is crisp and just makes gaming that bit better when you can see it on such a large screen.
As for the negatives, all I can really say is that it generates a heck of a lot of heat. If you get anywhere close to it you will feel it. The room I have it in is also well insulated and the room temperature will noticeably go up.
Overall though I would highly recommend this television. For the price, it's a clear winner.

Purchased this television about a year ago from a store in Tottenham Court Rd in London, for those who are unaware. As a believer in discounts i actually found this t.v for £300 cheaper than it was listed in john lewis in tottenham court rd. The television is a decent bit of kit. i think you'll be astonished at how big a 50" is. you dont reialse it, until you get home and switch it on for the first time. Good points:
Great looking design and remote ... ...major buttons light up in orange! easy to install, 3 HDMI sockets and feels fantastically well built. Cheap for a 50" quality television. Built in freeveiw tv.
Bad Points: Volume cannot be turned up to loud as it distorts the picture image. Black colours not all that great. Wall mount isn't included in the package. Not 1080p. Overall:
Great buy for the price, but still i dont think can compete with the big boys from Japan, such as Sony, Panasonic, ...
