Imagine style. Imagine power. Imagine a touch of colour for an aura of excellence and sophistication. The latest generation of notebooks advance Samsung's signature style with a sleek deep rose red infusion that illuminates their piano-black finish. The R700's stunning design is complemented by a range of high performance features and an ultra sharp 17" widescreen display that turns even the most demanding and visually intensive tasks into a real pleasure. Weighing just 3.18 kg, the R700 is also one of the lightest 17" notebooks in its class. So, with its tremendous balance of price, performance and portability, the Samsung R700 is the perfect choice for everyone.
Advantages: Big screen, Cheap, Big Hard Drive, Nvidia graphics, just very nice! Disadvantages: Noisy fan, glossy black cover can scratch easily
...I bought one of these in March 2008.
It's the first laptop I ever bought, so I was looking for something cheap, good-looking and that works well.

I bought it off Dixons.co.uk for £322 in December 2009 (had a 5% off coupon) but it?s going for around £310 at the moment in most places.
CHOICES
The NC10 is Samsung's first stab at the netbook market and they?ve done a blinding job of it. I believe it even won an award for it. The NC10 comes in three flavours, those being black, blue and white. I chose the black as it looks prettier. The white one also looks great but I figured that it would start to pick up dirt and go a bit black, especially the keyboard and touchpad. The white version has a matte lid so doesn't pick up...
